Bram Stokers Dracula

A great Vampire film & Keanu Reeves putting his back into it with that accent. John Harker would of been a Tory with a voice like that.

Inside Out 6/10: Probably in the minority here but found it a bit meh. Didn't particularly like any of the characters. Looked better in the trailers.

Work It (Netflix Original) - 5/10

Half watched this whilst playing Switch as the wife had it on. Standard low stakes dance based comedy/drama movie. If you've seen one of these then you've seen them all. Cast are likeable enough and raised a few chuckles.

Infinity War - 8/10

First time I've ever seen this. Got the Blu ray for 4 quid. Wasn't a bad show. I assume the next one has a gigantic reset button though. Hate those.

Us - 5/10

I was looking forward to this as I really enjoyed Get Out, but just found it dull. I actually ended up turning it off before the end as I'd completely lost interest. No idea why it got so much praise. Having social commentary doesn't automatically make a film great. The performances were all good, but it just seemed like nothing was happening throughout. Shame.

Sounds like your experience will be the same as mine. I thought Infinity War was quite entertaining, but Endgame was an absolute cop-out turd of a movie.

It was bizarre. So bizarre that I had to google up the meaning of the finale, and went “oh that’s what it is trying to tell us.”

Basically just a mad grandmother who is disappointed that her favourite grandchild isn’t a boy so she can let a spirit possess her.

Just wait until you see Midsommar. That was a headfuck of a film (and I loved it more than Hereditary!)

Is it on Netflix? I'll check it out tomorrow.

Lord of the rings - the two towers - extended edition

10/10

Saw this today at the cinema (no break and not many of us in)

Lovely to see it on the big screen. From opening of Gandalf falling, to the final shot of Golem planning a Shelob encounter it's all wonderful. Its long, very long but it held my interest and the effects are still exceptional.

The chance to see classics at the cinema is great. No trailers either, just straight into the movie.

Wish my image sig would work

I'm so glad I saw those at the cinema on their original run, but to see the extended editions must be awesome

The Matrix - 1999/10

Decided to watch this last night after the wife fell asleep watching Joker and it's still so watchable. Some ofn
the effects are starting to show their age (The opening rooftop chase scene, for example) but the overall package is still so iconic and stylish.

Freaks - 7/10

Went in blind and it was probably better for it. Nothing amazing but I really enjoyed the story.

It gets mentioned often on this forum, but the Justwatch app really is fantastic for finding out which films are on which streaming service. Highly recommended.

World War Z - 3/10

What a dull mess of a film this is. Its first act wasn't great but it was falling apart at the seams by the time Guppy from Casualty bit the dust, only getting steadily worse as it went on.

The book it's taken its title from was far from perfect but Christ at least it did something interesting with zombie tropes.

At least it had Doctor Who playing a WHO Doctor.

This film was so bad I switched it off part way through.
