Your Name - Thoroughly enjoyed, though it has a couple of weird moments. Probably an 8 or a 9/10
Whisper of the Heart - same again
Only Yesterday - same again, as it happened.

Probably they're all 9/10 movies, for different reasons. Your Name is basically an anime adaptation of the Lake House, but don't hold that against it.

Saw Cam last night and it was surprisingly decent. Lost its way towards the end a bit and the lack of explanation was frustrating., but it was a very non-judgemental take on the camgirl industry. Very much had the feel that it was just a job. But at the end it meandered into wanting to be all symbolic which is fine, but you still need to actually explain what happened.

Batman, the long Halloween (parts 1&2).

I feel a bit like a child for enjoying these animated films so much, but they're terrific. 8/10

Half Blood Prince is often underrated, the cinematography is by far the best of the entire series (i mean seriously, pay attention to how some of the scenes are so beautifully shot, it really is something very special).

Half-Blood Prince is an odd one. It does what it does well, with great shots like those shown in that video, but there's no escaping that it's the least action oriented of all the movies to the point they deviated from the book to add a scene that's completely irrelavent. Oh, I'm sure when watching it for the first time there was some sort of stakes as you wondered if they could possibly be going against the books and might actually kill someone, but there's nothing really in it - and dare I say feels more like a last minute addition considering it's not even mentioned throughout the rest of the movie or even in subsequent ones.

Maybe I just get too hung up on that scene, as Half-Blood Prince is still great to watch regardless.

Half Blood Prince was always my favourite book, but I'm a sucker for 'here's a bunch of expository backstory which is entirely consistent with the lore as you know it but turns it all on its head' which is basically all it is.

Dune (2021) - 5/10

I was never much of a fan of the book, and it reflects on my view of the movies. It looks lovely, but ultimately I found it tedious.

Everybody's Talking About Jamie - 6/10

I haven't heard about the stage production before but I imagine this must be about as straight an adaptation from that as possible, to its detriment. There's very few times where you feel a particular scene or musical set piece could have only happened on film. Otherwise it's really enjoyable.

It's out here for sure.

It was released internationally but won't be out in America for some reason until October.
