Fear Street 1994

Pretty strawberry floating funny. Crap but entertaining enough that I'll check out the next one.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark - 6/10

Not particularly scary, the story is based on some short horror stories for kids and it definitely felt that it was a kids horror film. I don't think that was the intent though, I'm assuming it was aiming for an older audience. Failed to hit the mark as a horror film but I did enjoy the stories (they reminded me of the Armada Ghost books I used to read) which is why it gets a 6/10 rather than a lower score. A nostalgia bump I guess.

how could Chris Pratt be transported to the future but still live for 7 more years in the past?
. Watchable though.

Also, was that the world cup final between Brazil and Scotland where the future people first popped in?
Time travel is fine but Scotland in a world cup final are they having a laugh  .

Just for that, ha ha England lost the final, get it right up yae

Hobbs & Shaw 6/10: This movie is at least 30 minutes too long, so I got a bit bored through bits of it. However I enjoyed the truly ridiculousness of the final set piece. Also I enjoyed the Ryan Reynolds schitck. The plot isn't great, but it'll do considering it's just a device for the action scenes, however when that's the case you need to make your movie under 1h45mins.

This was the First Fast & Furious Movie I've seen. Are there any better ones? I'm considering watching them from Fast Five as that's when the Rock joins them.

Hobbs & Shaw is more of a spin-off. All of them have something to enjoy so long as you know what kind of film you're going into. The only one I didn't particularly like and skip on rewatches is 4.

Definitely don't skip Tokyo Drift though (That one can basically be watched without having to watch the first two).

Fast 5 is the best of the series so definitely check that one out, Tokyo Drift is decent too.

I never get why Tokyo Drift gets so much hate. It's one of my favourites in the series.

Watched the Elton John biopic Rocketman over the weekend and thought it was just superb. I didn't realise it was a musical but it fit Elton's style perfectly. I love a lot of his music so I was probably always going to enjoy a lot of this but it really went beyond my expectations. Definitely helps making a movie about a rockstar when they're still alive because you can get their permission to go warts and all-and it didn't hold back. Taron Egerton was absolutely brilliant and really transformed into Elton. There were a lot of beautifully framed sequences-Saturday Night's Alright and his first performance at the Troubadour really stood out. The final rehab scene with the hug was beautifully done too. Given they only went to the end of the 80s, I wonder if they'll do a sequel.

9/10 for me, easily.

Unbreakable - 7/10

I remember trying to watch this on a plane years ago but I fell asleep and so didn't see much of it.

It's decent but a bit overhyped. One of Shyamalan's better movies though.

He's made some decent movies, but yeah he has some real stinkers.

I liked Split so will be watching Glass soon.

Split is great to be fair, mainly thanks to the performance by James McAvoy.

I was looking forward to Glass after seeing Split but gave it a swerve after reviews.

I really enjoyed split. Glass was proper gooseberry fool though, really disapointing.

Glass is okay. Nothing special like Unbreakable or Split.

The twist at the end is pretty much so barmy.Mr Glass was planning all of this to happen even though he’s in the nuthouse for ages, and expose the humans with super abilities to the whole world and ending the evil organisation that tries to cover up the superhumans.

The Lighthouse-9/10
Horribly uncomfortable and undercut by a pervasive and ever growing sense of dread. Not the type of thing I can watch often, but it was great.
