It’s not quite as simple as that, but yeah that is the kinda basic premise of the film. She doesn’t initially blame them for it but I suspect if there’s a sequel she’ll go loopy and say it’s their fault.

Is Cruella evil because of murderous Dalmatians, or because of nominative determinism?

Apocalypto - 8/10

Love this film. The chase bits are fantastic, especially when Jaguar Paw starts to fight back using resources from the jungle.

Army of the Dead - 6/10

This wasn't as bad as I was led to believe. The daughter was a stupid dick however.

Yesterday - 5/10

I didnt hate it but I think this has a load of issues. They had a lot of fun with the songs which was great but it was all quite superficial. They never really did anything super interesting with the concept or the characters and it dragged on in the second half and basically descended into generic rom com.

Himesh Patel was good and I liked how they had a British Indian in a central role that was nothing to do with his race. His mate Rocky was pretty funny too but a lot of the other jokes missed the mark. The cartoon agent villain character was terrible. As was Ed Sheeran. Also, John Lennon was an absolute banana split, so that whole scene made me feel reallt uneasy. They should have done something with the real Paul McCartney instead.

Also, I found the ending underwhelming, and a pretty shitty move by him to get her on screen without warning her and then declaring his love for her with her boyfriend rigut there...although he was strangely fine with it anyway. And why the strawberry float did they spend the movie teasing Wonderwall

Ultimately, the film was carried by the music and concept but once you get past that there wasn't much left. Disappointing waste of potential really.

I imagine it's not aged well, but yeah that stuck out to me too.

REC 2 is a very disappointing sequel.

Full Metal Jacket is hard to rate, as while the first half is 10/10, the second half is just meh.

It's probably a better movie than Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In though.

I enjoyed the first film [Kick-Ass], the second was more of the same minus Nicolas Cage, I didn’t think it was that expletive or bloodthirsty maybe Deadpool and other films make it look tame in comparison.

Full Metal Jacket is a competent well shot film that still looks great today, we used to chant some of the army chants at junior school and knew a ton of the dialogue and I’d heard it’s a classic but I just found it to be OK, nothing amazing.

Peter Rabbit 2 - 5/10

First movie back at the cinema for me and it's this pile of meh. £50 strawberry floating quid I forked out to take the family to see it as well.

James Corden does the voice of Peter Rabbit so avoid if you don't like him. They go out of their way to explore the most creative uses of his "unique" vocal talents as well so don't say I didn't warn you.

It's not a terrible movie, pretty standard kid friendly fare, and it was nice to see that with a lot of the action being set in my home town of Gloucester they did actually seem to film a lot of it there as well. Although it does lose points for making everyone in the city sound like Cockney's which is an unforgivable sin.

If I recall, didn't Mark Kermode actually receive a genuine letter of complaint from Corden's parents after his review of the first film, when he said his voice was irritating? Mayo read it out on air I believe.

Corden's parents being like that would go a long way to explaining Corden's supposedly awful personality.

It is, as the kids are saying, straight cringe. Just the most completely dense sense of priviledge, and goes some way to explaining why Corden himself has gotten a reputation as one of the biggest dickheads in show business

EDIT: Snap @Tomous

EDIT1: I'd never seen this.

Err, I love Patrick Stewart and dislike James Corden more than most, but neither man comes off well from that exchange at all. Whoever is accepting the award(Zoe Saldana?) looks *so* uncomfortable.

Yeah, agree with Cora. Patrick Stewart's awkward dad jokes, Corden being an antagonistic twat.
