It's the best film of the decade?

Ask a stupid strawberry floating question, get an obvious strawberry floating answer.

<OPEN>

VROOM! VROOM! CRASH! BANG!

GRUNT! GRUNT! SCREECH! BOOM!

SNARL! GRRR! POW! BANG! HOORAY!

<FADE>

It's a masterpiece.

This will shock you but, there was a time when films didn't have any dialogue. They were still pretty good.

In all seriousness it's the best action film ever made. Like, fight me.

My original response there was a little overdone sorry. Got wound up by the Election thread again.

Haha, it was actually meant to be a relatively serious post from me - I really like Fury Road!

The focus of it is actually a huge part of the charm - there's plenty of layers there if you want to think about them but at it's core it is just a fantastic sequence of action that it executed so damn well. :datass:

You should probably stay out of there, it's not good for your blood pressure (or your underwear when you consider the amount of twisting involved).

It's the best experience I had in a cinema in the last 10 years by far. There are arguments to be made that there are more significant films and films that had a greater impact but strawberry float none were as fun or memorable as Fury Road.

This is why.

I did enjoy that film but it had a shocking lack of any mention of space or aliens.
If it had mentioned either it would have been a much better film.

If judged on cinematic experience, I'd have A Quiet Place right up there. Fantastic atmosphere, with a packed out audience not daring to make a sound.

Fury Road is probably as overrated as The Dark Knight, maybe more so.

I like both of them but they're nowhere near as good as people claim.

The best film of the decade :lol:

It looks fantastic but it was utter guff as a film.

Yeah, I'd agree with this. Although the film isn't perfect, it was a very memorable experience.

It's OK I still :wub: you

I really liked Fury Road fwiw but didn't realise it was regarded so highly.

Can't actually think what I would put in my own list either. Get Out was pretty good. Keep meaning to watch Moonlight as well.

When it comes to movies and TV, the word overrated is overused, even more so than the word unnecessary.

I'm much more confident on my top 5 6 than my top 10 of the decade, so just posting those:

Mad Max: Fury Road
Baby Driver
Blade Runner 2049
Dredd
Scott Pilgrim vs the World
Detective Pikachu

Whoa, Scott Pilgrim coming out of left field there! I really liked Scott Pilgrim but I think the general response to it was muted.

I love Scott Pilgrim, and The World's End would almost certainly be in my top 10 too - Edgar Wright is my favourite director with good reason. All of his films, Scott Pilgrim included, are endlessly rewatchable.

I also forgot Detective Pikachu and that is straight in there too, fight me
