Last film you watched and your rating

I rewatched all the Bond films a few years ago and was actually surprised that the old movies were not far more racist. For the era they are remarkably restrained.

Although there's one Moore movie where he says to an Indian guy "that'll keep you in curry for a while!" :dread:

Kingdom of Heaven: Directors Cut - 9/10

An underrated classic, and one of Ridley Scott's finest works.

I recommend though that The Directors Cut is the version which should be seen every time, as it is so, so much better than the theatrical version.

It's by far the film with the biggest disparity between theatrical and director's cut quality. No other film I can think of even comes close.

It transforms it into something approaching a masterpiece. It's a shame the film is largely ignored/forgotten about due to the condition they released it in, plus Bloom's slight miscasting (although I think he's still surprisingly pretty good in this).

Alien 3?

Yeah, Alien 3 was definitely improved (for the most part, although I already quite liked the original version anyway), but I wouldn't personally put it in the same ballpark as what happened to Kingdom of Heaven.

I love Kingdom of Heaven, such a great film. Cinematography, story, acting, music, action, locations, it's got all :wub:

The Blade Runner theatrical edition has such a dreadful ending, so that was a pretty significant Directors Cut. But yeah I'd agree Kingdom of Heaven is a more substantial improvement overall.

I saw Kingdom of Heaven at the cinema. I didn't hate it but never felt a desire to rewatch it.

Maybe I should check out the Director's Cut.

The Blind Side (2009) - A kid from a tough background and with a few challenges goes to live with a wealthy family and breaks into American Football. Based on a true story, I thought it was okay... not too many surprises in how things develop but Sandra Bullock puts in a good performance. [4], maybe [5].

Another one here for Kingdom of Heaven Directors Cut. That's a great movie.

Well now I want to watch it. Although I'm not sure if director's cut available on Prime/Disney+ or if they only have the theatrical version.

According to JustWatch, Prime/Disney/Virgin have the theatrical cut. Apple has the Director's Cut, but as a £3.49 rental.

I got it on pre owned blu ray for £1 ages ago.

The theatrical cut is only a 5/10 movie and is kinda meh, but the directors cut is very special indeed.

So true, I couldn't believe how much better it was...

Pride & Glory 8/10 is easily one of my favorite cop movies tough and gritty Colin Farrel, Ed Norton put in great performances

Elvis - 7/10

Weird as it sounds, this isn’t a 7/10 movie. It alternates between hurried, gimmicky, montage-heavy storytelling and stunning scenes and performances. It really is a movie of two halves. Once Luhrmann lets the performers and the amazing songs speak for themselves, it becomes something else entirely. Austin Butler is phenomenal and his performance alone is worth a watch.

Beavis and Butthead Do the Universe 9/10

I haven't laughed that much in strawberry floating ages, holy gooseberry fool that was hilarious. I was never into B&B when I was a kid, but after getting into King of the Hill over the last few years and seeing constant clips of B&B I can safely say I'm a huge fan now of Mike Judge's work. One of the funniest comedy movies I've seen in a very, very long time. Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. :toot:

Sleepless - 6/10
Blitz - 7/10
Willow - 8/10

Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness 6/10

I enjoyed cottenpatch and Olsens' performances but overall the movie just didn't hit home for me.
