Also Rocket Man.

I liked the first hour. Then there was the usual formulaic adversity 70% through the film before the eventual redemption. The music mixed in well to the story. 8/10

I havent seen Bohemian Rhapsody.

I really liked Rocket Man. Elton had some real bangers back in the day.

BTTF3 - 8/10. Though it was really good! Very fun and a return to form in my eyes. Clara can get in the bin though.

Moneyball - 7/10

Wasn't sure if I'd like this given I barely know anything about baseball, but I enjoyed it a lot. Good performances from Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill in particular, who I'm not sure I've seen in anything before. Was bizarre seeing Bobby Kotick make an appearance though. Sadly it seems a lot of it was fabricated, but it makes for a good film nonetheless.

Where Eagles Dare 9/10
The Guns Of Navarone 9/10
Fast & Furious 4 5/10
Rear Window - 9/10

So i watched those films in that order over the last few weeks on DVD Rear Window tonight. But out of them all the one i found the most bland and souless was FF now i know that francise is OTT and switch of your brain entertainment but the characters and action is wooden and sterile compared too the other films listed. Granted different era of Hollywood in those other movies and style of film. As i was watching FF4 it was all very meh the blatant CGI didnt help either.

Where Eagles Dare is incredible. It just never lets up once the mission starts and it builds tension right up until all hell breaks loose.

FF4 was definitely poor, probably the worst of the franchise.

If you've not seen FF5 though, then you should do so as it's ten times better and is by far, the best of the entire series.

The Mitchells vs. The Machines - 8/10

Sat down and watched this with the kids on Monday, had no idea what to expect from it as it seemed to just pop up on Netflix out of nowhere but it's actually a really enjoyable movie! Looking into it more it shouldn't be too surprised at the quality as the people involved in making it have connections to fantastic stuff like The Lego Movie and Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse.

So yeah if you're looking for a good family movie to watch then this is well worth a look! :toot:

Yea, FF5 was the most skillful 'strawberry float it, let's just have fun' and ending up amazing I've seen since Final Destination 5.

The franchise escalation from "cop embedded in street racing ring" to "team of international superheroes" is frankly amazing. The flipcar in 6 is like robot wars got scaled up, genuinely love it. Even the corona product placement is so blatant it wraps around to endearing - but maybe that's just my post-lockdown "worth the wait" brain talking ;)

The only one I've seen in full is 7 and I remember being seething with anger at myself for having wasted my life watching it.

7 was the first one I ever saw and I didn't even finish watching it. I liked it more when I watched all the films in order later.

We've got this planned for our family movie night this weekend.
The trailer looked fantastic! And as you say, there's some serious pedigree on the production cast too.
