It looks fantastic but if you cut a book in half, it's very likely you're going to end with a product which feels unfinished which this does. I don't know how it went on for over 2.5 hours either given I can summarise the plot in two sentences.

Does that sentence include a rant about there being no mention of Luton at all in the entire film.

tbh I'm looking forward to seeing a 75 year old Stallone held together by steriods and TRT pretend to be 30 years younger than he is
I guess Jet Li at least doesnt look old

The Babadook

Haven’t finished just yet but I’m rooting for Mr Babadook.

Edit: good but overhyped.

Dune - 7

I think DV has absolutely nailed the vibe of the book and the design and production is fantastic. I just don’t think it translates very well. With all the weird Sci-Fi stuff and intergalactic war there’s little to latch onto to make it feel real and have you care about the characters. Also I’m starting to really hate Hans Zimmer. I went in hoping for Sci Fi Lord of the Rings but knowing the book it was never and could never be that.

The Rock

Good old Michael bay madness. Certainly one of his better films. 7/10

I think it's his best film by around a million miles personally. Surprisingly full of nice character moments and there's even a sense of subtlety with how some of the scenes are handled, especially with Mason. It's almost as if it wasn't directed by Bay at times.

Michael Bay is awful, as a director and a person, and while I agree it's his best film, I'd argue its literally his only good film.

Love "The Rock", always had a soft spot for the one and "Con Air".

I also enjoy Armageddon, even though I know deep down it's all nonsense I still find it very entertaining to watch.

Bad Boys, Armageddon and Bad Boys 2 are rubbish but very entertaining.

The Rock is great.

Everything else he's done is utter shite.

A Few Good Men (Netflix)

I hadn't seen this film since I watched it at the cinema back in 1992. It remains very entertaining and I enjoyed the battling relationship between Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise. Cruise's lawyer is a little corny in places but the storyline keeps your attention.

Think the Island is being overlooked here. The premise probably could have led to a better film, but it's still decent.

I'll admit to the first half of The Island being really interesting (at least, it was several years ago, it's probably quite an overdone premise now) but it completely falls apart in the second half.

Con Air isn't Michael Bay

Joker - 4/10

Horrible film albeit one with a great performance by Phoenix. Narrative is dull, its shallow, pretentious and I really didn't get much enjoyment from it. Soundtrack was well done though, I'll give it that.

No idea why this was rated so highly when it came out.

It's been the done thing for a while now, any film influenced or based on graphic novels or comics = best film ever

Armageddon was fun up to a point, once they arrived on the asteroid, it became more or less unwatchable.

I quite like The Island, it's probably Bay's best work.

Can't say i was much of a fan either, just seemed pointlessly nasty at times.

Wasn't the pointless nastiness quite literally... the point, though?

I only saw it once in the cinema and loved it at the time. Need to give it another go.
