Liked the premise, and I like Chris Pratt. Was pretty good I thought. Hadn't seen Jennifer Lawrence in anything before, not sure I get what all the fuss is about.
Jason Bourne - 8/10
Not as good as the trilogy, but it was never going to be. Decent enough, and Alicia Vikander... :datass:

Tomb Raider - 6/10
Completely coincidentally I then ended up watching this, starring Alicia Vikander. Good grief. :datass:

I actually thought Tomb Raider was great, possibly even an 8/10 - schlocky, B-movie action, and a lot of fun.

Tomb Raider was basically a rip off of Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, which is actually not such a bad thing.

A Field in England - 5/10

A very weird film. Worth a watch and well filmed but not really something I'll go back to.

I really wanted to like this, but it's just far too nasty for me. I should probably go back and try it again though.

Watched Vice, what a fascinating film. The thing is they really tiptoe around nearly his whole tenure as VP, it is more about how he got there. I really think they pretty light on Cheney, I mean the whole shooting incident was probably under 2 mins of the film. I guess with him still being alive they were trying to avoid a sued. But damn it is amazing how he got to where he was. Oh Bale is superb as well

Pretty interesting (and obviously well-researched) story and some very solid performances, but didn't blow me away like I was hoping it would.

I finally got around to watching Ready Player One last night,

I went into this pretty blind (other than knowing it was about a worldwide VR game called the Oasis and it had quite a lot of references dotted throughout). First off the CGI looks great, it had some great action sequences in there (the race for the first key being amazing), characters were pretty good (I’ve read that they’re not as good as the book but I’ve not read it so can’t compare the two, although I might pick a copy up soon), I thought Mark Rylance did a great job as Halliday. The storyline was enjoyable if predictable. I feel like I definitely need to give it a second watch to see more of the references though.

I liked it overall, probably a 7 to 7.5/10, might go up or down a little on my second watch.

Last King of Scotland - The first time I watched this, about 10 years, I thought it was very good. Not quite as good on second viewing but still a good film. 8

Incident in a Ghostland - Interesting take on the "home invasion" horror film. If you like that type of film I'd recommend it. 7

Full Metal Jacket - The first 45 minutes (the training section) 9. The middle bit - 5. The last scene - 8.

Polar isn't fit to lick John Wick's dead dog's turds.

I've just watched it. It was awful.

Green Book - 8/10; Mortensen and Ali are wonderful in this. Apart from Rami Malek winning Best Actor for Bohemian Rhapsody I hope this picks up some Oscars.

Vice - 5/10; I wanted to love it more. Found it slow and a bit drab, loved the ensemble cast but felt it was a bit 'meh' in the end. Not a patch on the The Big Short. Bale is one of my favourite actors but feel he's getting a lot of the plaudits due to his real weight gain or commitment to the art, my luvvies.

Predator - 10/10

Watching it in 4k Blu Ray it's just so green and lovely. Pretty much every line is quotable. The raid scene is arguably the best action scene put to film, the music, the fact that every character gets a moment to shine, everything about it is perfect.

Watching it for what must be the 30th time (at least) it's easy to see why recent entries in the series failed. How could they compete with this.

Predator is superb, I must have seen it 50 times now and never get bored with it.

Ant Man and the Wasp.

Pretty much what I expected/wanted from a sequel to Ant Man - for the directors to take full advantage of the resizing technology in new creative ways as Scott teams up with Hope as the Wasp. I might've wanted them to build up Ava some more, but aside from maybe one or two more minor nitpicks, I feel that this is not only better than the first Ant Man, but also one of the better self-contained (relatively so) sequels in the MCU.

8.5/10

Den of thieves- 8/10

I really enjoyed this, Gerrard butler ate his way through the entire film I think, and while it was a bit predictable, it was well shot and acted.
