Not a film, but it's related so strawberry float it - Conan the Barbarian: Official Soundtrack - 10/10

Listened to this in its entirety today at work and it's just a masterpiece, easily Basil Poledouris' finest piece of work. It has such an authentic sound to it, as if it was written and performed in the age of Conan. There are obviously some highlights - The Anvil of Crom, Riders of Doom and Atlantean Sword to name just a few, but so many of the tracks just transport you straight to the world and imagery of the John Milius classic.

Us - 8/10

I think I preferred Get Out on first viewing, but this was still excellent. When the other family arrived they creeped the gooseberry fool out of me and it was so well acted that it just added to the terror of it all.

The Crimes of Grindelwald - 8/10

I actually enjoyed it a lot more than the first Beasts movie.

Total Recall. The remake one. Kate Beckinsale is good. The 'small lift' fight sequence is good. The film lacks the humour, and charm of the Verhoeven classic. Farrell is a charisma black hole. Cranston is gooseberry fool. The pacing and story is an abortion compared to the original. 4/10.

Tag 5/10- 5/10 Perfectly harmless to have on in the background whilst I was looking for holidays. Few more chuckles than the above. But seemed like it was a stretched out sitcom episode.

Aliens directors cut (in cinema) 10/10

My favourite film of all time, was thrilled to see my local cinema showing it. Never thought I’d ever get to see it on the big screen. Despite having seen it dozens of times before, it did not disappoint. And for a film that is 33yrs old it holds up wonderfully. A few of the “flying drop ship” scenes look a Bit ropey but otherwise it still feels like a believable future which is remarkable given the time it was made.

Spider-Man: Homecoming - 8/10

Really enjoyed this, another fun entry into the MCU! Holland plays Peter Parker really well, you definitely get more of a feel for the fact that this is just a young kid than in any of the other film versions to date.

Also pleased that it wasn't Iron Man 4: featuring Spider-Man - I was worried having previously only seen the trailers that Stark was going to be all over this and we wouldn't get much scope to properly focus on Spidey but that definitely wasn't the case.

Keaton does a good job as Vulture, although I think it is a bit hard to believe that he hasn't attracted more heat from the Avengers and that they essentially just left Spider-Man to deal with him in his training wheels mode!

All in all a very enjoyable movie, just needed a little more Marisa Aunt May. :datass:

I saw an Alien/Aliens double bill in the cinema a couple of years back and yes, it's fantastic on the big screen!

Trainspotting 2 - 8/10 Loved it, maybe even more than the first one which was great
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - 4/10 Pile of piss, most of the time they couldn't hold my interest and as they replaced Evelyn with a different actor and acted like it was nothing. Should have made her a different person. P.S. I miss you Rachel Weisz
Pacific Rim - 5/10 story is like loads ive seen before, few good bits here and there but on a whole bang average

Captain Marvel:

It grew on me as the film went on on. Quite liked that the Superhero was so much more powerful than the villain that dispatching them was almost trivial by the end. Don't really get how people can say this was a stand alone movie, it felt like they were just building her up to fight Thanos.

6.5/10

Get Out - 8/10

I loved this. It's a showcase in flipping between the normal and unsettling. strawberry float that family.
