Children of Men 8/10 - Had to remind myself a few times that this was a work of fiction, chilling stuff. I enjoyed the variety of cute cats and dogs that kept popping up.

Still only watched it the once because of that, too scared to give it another go.

This, completely. I was an absolute ruin by the end.

I struggled hard with it in a few places. When the music snaps Coco into sense at the end of the film I nearly buckled because my gran was a bit like that with the Alzheimer’s towards the end - would only react to music she knew when she was younger.

Phenomenal movie. Dat tracking shot near the end with all the explosions and gooseberry fool :datass:

Taxi Driver

Week that was an uncomfortable couple of hours. Robert DeNiro is fantastic, the character is completely unhinged to the point that they scene towards the end feels incredibly tense. This is the first I've time I've seen it and Joker almost feels like a straight up copy than just paying homage.

Watch The King of Comedy next to see the bits of Joker that weren't taken from Taxi Driver.

Still haven't gotten around to seeing that yet, will likely try and do so at some point.

Won't you be my neighbour? (2018) - 8/10

Such a lovely individual who dedicated his life to making the world a less scary and more understandable place for kids who watched his show.

One of my favourite films, and that shot is properly fantastic

Transformers - The Animated Movie - 10/10

Brilliantly paced and so brutal. Really stunningly brutal at times. The opening 20 minutes has a planet destroyed, Prime and most of the known autobots killed too.

Its beautifully animated and the music is epic.

Its really just the best Saturday morning cartoon turned up to 11. The design of the new characters Galvatron and Unicron are epic and the feel of the whole thing is timeless and full of charm.

Lost Soul - The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau - 8/10

Fantastic documentary about the Island of Dr Moreau (remake) and how the filming of it was destroyed by the stars and money men. The concept art for what the film was supposed to be shows an amazing vision but what was created is very odd. As a fan of the Dr Moreau story it's really interesting and sad to see how the film and its failure affected the director and team.

It was for a long time my favourite film. Don't remember what succeeded it.

Genuinely one of my top ten movies. I could talk for days about everything I love about it. I watch it every 6 months or so. My favourite movie soundtrack, the synth stuff is godly on it (all the little repeating melodic lines he uses etc.)

I haven't seen it but is Joker just Robert De Niro's Greatest Hits Feat. Robert De Niro?

Genius Party Beyond 7/10- Another solid set of animated short films. There's one called Toujin Kit which is pretty special, about a girl making living cuddly toys out of a parasite. It's cute.

Wheel of Time 6/10 - Felt like a holiday tape at times, but it was interesting to see how Buddhist get togethers go down.

Yep. It's basically just a mix of Taxi Driver, King of Comedy and Rocky & Bullwinkle.
