Isn't it about time homes were issued with the three seashells? Would have certainly eliminated the panic buying of loo roll last year.

My first DVD meanwhile was Deep Blue Sea, while my first Blu Ray was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

First DVD purchase was 'Goldeneye'. I remember being blown away by the picture and sound quality.

Blade was so cool and will never date.

My first DVD was Shanghai Noon and a DVD player from ASDA and a copy of DVD Review Magazine. I loved looking for and finding Easter Eggs hidden away in the menu’s.

It's long, but a good look at the Snyder cut. They think it's...fine (with serious problems) but appreciative of it. The Whedon cut and it's choices get slammed much harder

I forgot to add my first VHS, which was The Addams Family.

On a separate note...

Wonder Woman 1984 - 7/10

Read a lot of negative reviews for this, but i found it to be good fun, it's also nice to see a new release as there's been so few around lately.

First DVD was something like Spider-Man (2002).

My first DVD was Jerry Maguire, which came with the (£800) DVD player. I also picked up a disc of 8 Friends episodes at an additional cost of £25. :fp:

I'm sure I remember an advert for DVD, where the bloke was diving around on his sofa at home because the picture and sound quality increase from VHS made him believe his house was being raided or something .

These days I grimace at 1080p content. What spoilt brats we are.

Ah yes, The Matrix on DVD, there was a lot of fuss at the time as for some reason, the disc wouldn't play on a lot of DVD players.

The Matrix was the last VHS I ever bought. Dragged my mum everywhere to find it and ended up buying a second hand copy from Blockbuster.

Beta House - 3/10 and it’s lucky to get that!

Seem’s like a film to show how many boobs and sex you can shoe horn into a movie, you might as well watch porn. Story is awful! one of those points is because of the use of a PSP!

I have two questions, how many stiflers actually are there and how do they manage to shoehorn in Jim’s Dad in every film.

This has nothing to do with American Pie, at least Band Camp had some ties to it. This one is just Jim’s dad who seems to be everywhere in different roles.

Captain America - Winter Soldier - 9.5/10

I rewatched this in preparation for FATW and as I haven't watched it for a good few years I was interested to see if still holds up as one of my favourites, and it really does. It's just brilliant from start to finish-perfectly paced, an interesting story that twists and turns and I like how it takes it self seriously at the right moments. The subtext isn't particularly subtle but I appreciated it nonetheless. And I love the fight sequences too-there's a real frenetic feeling to them and they nailed the choreography. Not sure Marvel will ever top this.

I genuinely think the Captain America films are as close as the MCU has gotten to perfecting their formula. All three are absolutely fantastic, for slightly different reasons.

I'd agree with that, Cap definitely has the best trilogy in the MCU - there's nothing even close to a dud in his three movies.

I've re-watched both The First Avenger and Winter Soldier over the last two weeks and they are both fantastic. Winter Soldier has always been my favourite MCU movie so I will never have a problem with giving it another viewing, but what surprised me more was just how well his debut holds up, The First Avenger is a really excellent movie and establishes the character perfectly

Yeah, when you consider how much the quality goes up and down in Iron Man and Thor's trilogies, the consistency of Captain America's is remarkable. Although Civil War is more of an Avenger's film than a Captain America film I guess.

I can see the argument for it being an unofficial Avengers movie but equally, it remains focused on the relationship between Cap and Bucky all the way through, so I’m happy to include it. :slol:
