It is both a sequel to Age of Ultron and Winter Soldier, to be fair.

I rewatched this in preparation for FATW and as I haven't watched it for a good few years I was interested to see if still holds up as one of my favourites, and it really does. It's just brilliant from start to finish-perfectly paced, an interesting story that twists and turns and I like how it takes it self seriously at the right moments. The subtext isn't particularly subtle but I appreciated it nonetheless. And I love the fight sequences too-there's a real frenetic feeling to them and they nailed the choreography. Not sure Marvel will ever top this.

I'm going to re watch this at the weekend, as I've only seen it once years ago and I don't remember it.

Goddamn, I have to watch it now that it’s been talked about. What a film.

Thor Ragnarok way too low, otherwise, not too much to complain about.

Re-watching The First Avenger made me really sad that we didn't get more 1940s era Steve Rogers time. I know they had to get him up to date for Avengers but it would have been nice to see some more wartime shenanigans from Cap and the Howling Commandos!

Plus more Peggy

Peggy might be the most underrated character in MCU-she's an absolute lynchpin for the whole thing when you consider how much she's involved in.

It still annoys me that they said the end of Endgame was Steve in another timeline rather than him just living the life he wanted in secret.

Bollocks to that it’s not explicitly stated in the film

The bit I always like is the grenade test. She’s the only other one rushing towards it. The scene is set up to define Steve, but Peggy comes off just as well

Going by the timetravel rules the film itself sets up, it would have to be another timeline. Otherwise Sharon Carter canonically always wanted to have sex with her great uncle.

Given that Sharon Carter is still around we have to assume that Peggy did get with her existing husband as per the original timeline?

It's nicer to think of it being a real happily ever after for them both though.

In the comics at least Sharon is the daughter of Peggy's brother. She exists no matter who Peggy marries.

Ah good point, I forgot that she wasn't a direct descendant! :fp:

Agreed. Would love seeing more of Captain America battling Hydra during the WW2 era.

And I would love to see a scene where Steve returns the soul stone and face Red Skull.

The Captain America Trilogy is fantastic, Winter Soldier is easily my favourite of the Marvel films as it was a fantastic mix of bombastic superhero action as well as 1970's spy thriller.

As for the worst it has to be Thor Dark World it was utter tripe, the only real redeeming factor was more Loki.

Also have to admit I wasn't keen on Spider-Man Homecoming, I've yet to watch Far From Home.

Looking at the list posted here, we could probably do with a GRCade ranks the MCU thread.
