Probably about the 5th time I've seen this, and it was only on this viewing that I really understood just how interchangeable every character is, and how he gets always with what he does (the bits that were real anyway). Nobody knows who anyone is, people talk to each other and think they're talking to someone else, to the point where I'm assuming Paul Allen isn't Paul Allen at all and Bateman is mistaken himself.

Yeah, it's a commentary on 80s New York yuppie culture and how fake/meaningless it was and how interchangeable everyone was

Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny

A friend of mine had been banging on for me to watch this for some time so I caved and watched it last night. It's okay. Some funny moments for sure, but overall the film is nothing special.

5/10

The Netflix version had an audio edit to that scene, so it was "so she can see your ass" instead of asshole.

How am I going to climax now? :(

Death at Funeral 8/10: Coming in at 91 minutes meant it was a compact & focussed. Very good British comedy.

Unbreakable (Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson | 2000) (Disney+)

I hugely enjoyed this; it's a slow but smart take on superhero movies, focused from a "real life" angle that works well. It turns surprisingly dark in the last half-hour and it carries a sense of mystery throughout. I suspect that many would find the pace to be lacking but I felt that it added to the atmosphere; the colouring and acting only enhanced this.

You should watch the sequels. Split and then Glass.

I thought Split was great, a solid 8/10. Not seen Glass, but I might now I know it's available on Disney+.

Split is a brilliant film, a remarkable performance by James McAvoy.

I haven't seen Glass but heard it was shite.

Been watching the Nightmare on Elm Street series. 3 of 6 of the mainline series done. I won't be bothering with Freddy vs. Jason, New Nightmare or the remake of the first movie.

A Nightmare on Elm Street - An absolute classic. Completely forgot Johnny Depp was in it! Dies wonderfully in the movie too. 9/10

Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge - Starts off well, but ultimately fails to deliver anything near to the quality of the first outing. 4/10

Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors - Definitely one of the more entertaining sequels. Deliciously daft and quite gruesome in places. 8/10

Dream Warriors is a great horror film. Made by Chuck Russell who also did the Blob remake (another great 80s horror). Easily my favourite Nightmare on Elm Street movie.
