Mission Impossible Fallout - 8/10

A decent action movie, although I spent a lot of it thinking “they strawberry floated up Superman’s face for THAT?”

The Incredibles 2 - 6.5/10

I love the first movie but this left me slightly cold. It’s not bad but is very disappointing. Jack Jack is great, Dash is annoying and two of the characters voices made me think I was watching Better Call Saul.

I watched Fast & Furious 8 last night. Actually one of the worst films I have ever seen. 7/10.

Sorry To Bother You - 8/10

This was well good, but hard to describe. I'll go with: Man works in call centre and then everything goes batshit.

It's out this week, I think, but also steaming on Hulu.

Was joking about the 7/10 for Fast & Furious 8. I won't deny that I was weirdly entertained in a way, but it's closer to something like 3/10. Can't believe a big blockbuster could be that bad and look that ropey. Just the amount of money put into it, you'd think they'd by at least chance upon some good moments here and there. Nope. Easily the worst big release of the last two years.

...

...I just watched Alien Covenant. 1/10. Worse than Alien Resurrection. Not even joking. Would actually rate that alongside AVP2 for how unbelievably abysmal it was. I would have felt so angry if I had paid money to see that.

Yeah, but is it worse than Alien 3?

I feel like I am missing out on a classic GR reference. Yes. It is vastly worse than Alien 3.

Did you at least like Fassbender in it?

Alien 3 is a masterpiece compared to Covenant.

Covenant was a bad Alien film, but it was a perfectly watchable sci-fi action horror movie.

Aliens > Alien > Alien 3 > Prometheus > Alien: Resurrection > Alien: Covenant >>>>>>>>>>>>> AvP >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> AvP: Regurgitate

Alien = Aliens >>> Alien 3 >>> Covenant > Prometheus > Resurrection

Bow before my correctness

Well, I was entertained in a slightly baffled way? But the entire film, which includes Fassbender by extension, was unmitigated bollocks.

Preezy wrote:Covenant was a bad Alien film, but it was a perfectly watchable sci-fi action horror movie.

As above, it was nonsense, which in itself makes it watchable. But let's not equate it with competence. Film was an absolute mess, and I'm not sure where I read it, but surely there were cheaper ways for Ridley Scott to tell Fassbender that he wanted to strawberry float him. Dreadful CGI, worse acting than Prometheus (I was initially gutted for Noomi Rapace getting shitcanned but she dodged a bullet), just an overrall farce of a movie. I watched Life earlier today, that was far from great but it showed up just how bad Covenant is. Actual 1/10.

Only decent moment of the film (yeah I don't give a strawberry float about spoilers for this shite) was the Alien Vs Truckasaurus moment near the end. I burst out laughing at it.

Prometheus is better than Covenant, but otherwise you are correct.
