Captain Marvel - 6/10

I liked it, but it wasn't amazing by any stretch of the imagination. The lead lady was likeable enough.

I still don't really get the huge adoration for these films. They feel very disposable.

Escape Room (2017) - 4/10

Poor acting, takes ages to get going and poor ending!

Caltain Marvel - 7/10
Good origin story but nothing amazing. I loved how they captured samuel jackson as a younger man. Larson I also quite liked although the story cluld have been stronger

The Great Wall.

Daft, but reasonably entertaining fantasy adventure with some good action and lovely use of colour.

6/10

Oh, and Jing Tian (General Lin) is a beauty.

Triple Frontier - 7/10

It was alright, had less twists than I was expecting, quite a basic story really.

Children of Men 10/10

Perhaps not the best film to watch at the moment given the current political goings on, but this never fails to amaze. Those three scenes, the car, the birth and the battle, are still remarkable pieces of filmmaking and Cuaron's use of CGI still amazes, over 10 years since the film was released.

If it's not in my top 10 it's just outside

The Cube - 7/10

A bit Saw, a bit Escape Room, enjoyable enough and we'll made for a low budget. With a more sci fi vibe.

Not sure how it became a cult hit as it's not a massively unique or has a brilliant ending. Not seen the sequels so they may add to the lore of it all.

It's on Netflix and is only 1 hour 30 mins.

Wish my image sig would work

Underworld Blood Wars

That was crap. Gets an extra point because Beckinsale still looks hot in her pvc catsuit.

2/10

Do you mean Cube? If so, you've just compared it to two films which came after it (and were clearly directly inspired by it), and then complained it wasn't unique. :fp:

Also the ending is perfect.

Robocop (1987)

The Netflix version is uncut. Surprisingly gruesome in places.

Triple Frontier (Netflix Original) - 5/10

Meh. I felt everything was too easy and the plot was very weak.

Cargo (Netflix) 6/10

I love Zombie/Post-Apocalyptic films, this was ok and I enjoyed it but it’s not a film I’d want to watch again it was a little dull in places

Mauthausen (Netflix) 8/10

Along with Post-Apocalyptic films my other favourite type of films are Nazi and World War II films, this follows the story of a Spaniard inmate photographer

Fisherman’s Friends [7/10] it reminded me of Local Hero; typical story of an outsider who comes into a place and for whatever reason falls in love with the place or in the end fights for the place or the people and becomes one of their own. Great English cast and makes me want to go back to Cornwall [Port Issac].

Instant Family [7/10] Mark Wahlberg and his wife hit there early 40’s and for whatever reason haven’t gotten round to having children; so they end up adopting. It’s a bit of a comedy drama with a lot of heart; better than average.

Triple Frontier [5/10] New-ish to Netflix - has a cracking cast; Oscar Issac, Charlie Hunnam and Ben Affleck amongst others. Entertaining in an action no thought kind of way but instantly forgettable, disappointing!

Captain Marvel - Agree with most of the other reviews in here which seem to be that it's a good film but not a great film - somewhere in the middle of the pack for Marvel films. I think the film grew into itself after a fairly disjointed start. The cast were good and it had some funny moments. Worth a watch but probably not one I'll buy or re-watch. 7/10

If there's one thing I've learned naming my child Isaac it's that no-one can spell Isaac.
