I meant in the sense that it comes across as glorifying the war in Iraq and the main character is what can only be described as a complete loose cannon. On two or three occasions he happily puts a gun to the head of a local without a care in the world and I think you’re supposed to empathise with that.

American war films do have a tendency to be propaganda.

Agreed. This is why the best examples of the genre are ones which the primary focus is not on the violence, but the complete and utter psychological breakdowns experienced by its participants.

The Matrix 9/10

It shows it's age, and some of the stuff that was cool back then is pretty cringe now, but it's still so much fun, and the fight sequences are fantastic. Shame they never made and sequels really.

The Matrix is great, as you said though, it has aged a bit, though nowhere near as badly as the post-Matrix rip offs which kept adding unnecessary bullet time sequences, slow mo, and wirework fight scenes (Mission Impossible 2 and Swordfish are good examples of this).

To be fair to MI:2 it was directed by John Woo so most of that stuff was already his hallmark long before The Matrix.

Coraline

First viewing 8/10

10,000th viewing – 0/10

My 3 year old has become obsessed with this movie. I was surprised he wasn’t scared by it, but I am now terrified that I will have to watch it again. Make it stop, please make it stop. :x

My other mother might want to swap my eyes with buttons but at least she makes decent food and lets me get muddy.

Real mother 3/10
Other mother 6/10

Doomsday - 8/10

Guilty pleasure Neil Marshall film. Very silly and the final far chase looks terrible after Fury Road came along and did it so much better. But it's got a strong cast and some good ideas.

Wish my image sig would work

Rambo Last Blood. That was some nice brutal mindless violence from old Johnny boy, enjoyed it but preferred the last Rambo movie.

Gemini Man - errrrr so strawberry floating good I couldn't be arsed actually finishing the movie. Trailer looked good when I last went the cinema and it was advertised but it just comes across as a straight to Blu Ray movie. Young Wills mouth looks weird at times too. I'll try and finish it/10.

I caught the last hour of Reloaded the other night and have to say that I didn't hate it. The big fight scene with Neo was over choreographed but it wasn't horrendous.

I seem to remember that's how I felt leaving the cinema, that Reloaded was ok but was Revolutions was garbage.

All I can remember about Reloaded is the freeway chase, architect and way too many Elronds.

I honestly can’t remember anything about Revolutions.
