Reloaded has a few good sequences - highway chase, staircase fight etc. but is a significantly worse film that the original and has some really ropey CGI that has aged far worse.

Revolutions is just full on shite.

Revolutions is crap i saw it at the cinema and have not seen it since Reloaded has its good scenes as already mentioned buts it dragged out and boring

Can't remember who it was, but someone argued that Revolutions is ace if you ignore everything that involves Neo. Like, they went through how basically if you cut out all of the Neo storyline and focus entirely on the kid from that Animatrix episode and the crews of the various ships and it's a really tight sci-fi action movie. And then the shitty Neo stuff ruins it.

I'd to know what happened with The Matrix sequels, it does feel like there is a good film in there if someone could have cut a lot of unnecessary exposition and nonsensical plot. I know the original has that stuff but it's tight enough to keep the film interesting between the cool fight scenes.

Angry Birds Film 6/10
Don't like the Angry Bird games, but someone gave me a free UV code for it and actually rather enjoyed it, animation was top notch too.

Jack Reacher Never Go Back 4.5/10
Starting to get into Tom Cruise movies after really enjoying the Mission Impossible films, tried this and it was a rather boring and so so thriller.

Venom 7/10
Was a bit weary of watching this after the mixed reviews, but honestly was a pleasant surpirse. Tom Hardy was great and there was a decent amount of humour in it, the opening hour was a bit slow, the villian was so-so and for a 15 rated it wasn't that violent.

Spiderman: Into the Spider-verse 9/10
Absolute blast of a film easily the best Spiderman film since Spiderman 2, love the animation art style and I seriously can't wait for the sequel.

CGI was appalling. Had it's creepy moments when it didn't go all Goosebumps on you. Absolutely no need for it to be that long.

Joker

Didn't expect it to go where it did at times which was a refreshing surprise. I thought Joaquin Phoenix was fantastic, he made the character come to life in a way we hadn't seen before.

As a Batman/Joker fan I really enjoyed it, felt a different yet familiar take on the character.

Joker- 8/10 pretty enjoyable, evoked taxi driver in the best ways and is hopefully an indicator of more stylistic and narrative risks in comic book films

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood- 8/10 Felt the closest to Pulp Fiction out of all of the rest of his films, though it lacks that level of nuance. Not to deride it; it's a worthy addition to Tarantino's filmography.

I get why people say this is massively indulgent, it really is basically 2 hours of “Tarantino movie!!!” and then 30 minutes of action.

But I love the Tarantino experience and just going along watching and listening to his characters.

Nah, that's bang on. I have less tolerance for Tarantino's over-indulgence though, and thought the majority of the scenes needed chopping in half. He did a reet good job of conjuring up a lost age though.

Yeah it was stunning just how much it felt like 1969, even though I wasn’t around then!

I liked seeing DiCaprio in The Great Escape, I’d like to watch the whole version of that movie. :lol:

I watched Jurassic Park in 4K tonight. I was pretty amazed how well the 1993 dinosaurs hold up. Those that were physically there on the whole looked superb, especially at night in the rain, whereas those using animation looked a little rough (especially the herbivores) - the textures twisting like you get in video games was very evident, as was some fuzziness.

I had completely forgotten the opening 15 minutes of the film, and it was nice to see that bloke get eaten on the toilet again as ITV love to edit that bit out.

STILL A 9/10.

Shall watch Jurassic Park 3 next week, which I’ve never seen aside from a few minutes here and there. I think I caught it at a Christmas past but I was too drunk to stick with it. Box says it’s at least half hour shorter than any of the others.

JP3 has talking velociraptors in so is obviously the best one of the series.

Watched The Irishman on Netflix this evening.

At 3 and a half hours it's a long slog, but it's a fantastic story and it's great seeing the old Mafia film stars get together again for one final blast.

The de-aging was a bit ropey and jarring in places.
They reverse-aged Dr Niro's face masterfully, but it's easy to tell his body is still moving like an old guy.
Would have been better to deep-fake his face onto a younger body double.
There's scenes where he turns in his chair, or kicks strawberry float out of someone but it looks like an old man wearing a mask of De Niro from Goodfellas.

But... a great film, with a great story which I enjoyed lots, but I don't see me going in for a repeat viewing at that running time.

Knives Out - 8/10

Brilliant cast, very well filmed and paced. The leading lady is the leading lady from Blade Runner 2049. Stunning beyond words.

Rest of the cast are great especially Chris Evans who does a lot with his role.

Worth a trip to the cinema and it proves that the director has talent despite some of the choices in The Last Jedi.

Skyscraper - 4/10

Not even The Rock can save this. An action movie set in a burning skyscraper shouldn’t be that boring.
