Looking through my iMDB ratings and I've come up with my top 10 fave films of the decade, not fussed about critical darlings just what I've enjoyed [it was difficult to narrow them down].

#. Dangal. [2016]
#. The Founder. [2016]
#. Grand Budapest Hotel. [2014]
#. Inception. [2010]
#. Nightcrawler. [2014]
#. Rocketman. [2019]
#. Shape of Water. [2017]
#. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse. [2018]
#. Wild Rose. [2018]
#. Wolf of Wall Street. [2013]

This is definitely one of mine. Jake Gyllenhaal's best ever performance in my opinion.

Completely agree there's something mesmerising about his performance, weird, creepy but utterly watchable. Great film.

BEST-OF-THE-DECADE TOP TEN LISTS

(AKA FILMS THAT CRITICS STILL LOVE NOW)

This section will be updated as new lists are published throughout the end of the year.

Last update: November 29

While the list above reflects how critics felt about each movie at the time of its release, opinions can change over time. So, to get a better read on the current consensus, we have also aggregated best-of-the-decade lists published by a variety of film and entertainment publications in late 2019. Individual lists are displayed at the bottom of the page, but in the table below, the most frequently mentioned titles are ranked according to our points system (which gives bonus points for being ranked at the top of a list):

3 points for each 1st place ranking
2 points for each 2nd place ranking
1 point for being ranked 3rd - 10th, or for being included on an unranked list of 10 or fewer titles
0.5 points for being included on an unranked list of 11-20 titles
No points for films included on unranked lists of more than 20 titles (or for films ranked worse than 20th)

Aside from Inception and the Wolf of Wall Street that's a strawberry floating awful list.

Except clearly it’s not.

Though The Wolf of Wall Street is the worst Scorcese film of the decade.

Interesting to see Llewyn Davis on this list, I seem to remember it being received with a good deal of ambivalence when it came out and several of the Coens films around the time being more highly praised. I really loved it at the time and have on subsequent rewatches. I wonder if it’s place on here represents a bit of a critical reappraisal or just the people who love it really loving it.

It got a 93% rating from 52 critics at release (31st highest rating of the decade) & came 4th in the 2013 Awards list so seems like it was received well.

Any list with Fury Road in the top spot is a bad list.

And a Spiderman film (albeit a good one)

It's their highest rated film, 2% higher than No Country - https://www.metacritic.com/person/joel-coen

No Country was excellent.

Having just read the synopsis of Llewyn Davis I can't imagine myself watching it, it sounds dull as strawberry float.

Their whole filmography is a bit like that though, I really enjoyed Fargo and the Big Lebowski but a lot of the other stuff doesn't appeal to me at all.

It's a cracking film, definitely worth a go. Wonderful soundtrack in particular.

That is strawberry floating bananas. But then I just looked at that page and I see the issue. There is something seriously strawberry floating wrong with those ratings, they’re all over the place.

That is an interesting list

Off the top of my head, while on the bus.

Infinity War
Into The Spiderverse
Inception
Fury Road
Dr Sleep
Blade Runner 2049
The Hateful Eight
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Moneyball
The Big Short

Would have to think harder about others and remind myself what I've seen. That's a pretty mainstream list, not that I suppose there's anything wrong with that.

It's the best film of the decade?

Ask a stupid strawberry floating question, get an obvious strawberry floating answer.

Terminator - Genisys - 6.5/10

Not the utter abortion I'd been led to believe it was. It's not great and with the exception of Arnie the main cast are utterly devoid of, well.... talent, but it was enjoyable enough and there were a couple of decent action set-pieces and smirk worthy moments.

I'd argue that the basic premise of the past being re-written and revisiting the start of the original movie was actually a pretty cool idea and had it been executed better could have led to a fresh start for the franchise, but was just let down by a dull cast and overly CGI everything. It probably has plot holes all over the place as well, but I didn't really want to think that hard about the movie.
