Parasite- 9/10

It's fantastic. I've seen all the oscar best picture nominees apart from Little Women, Marriage Story and The Irishman and this is by far the best.

Just saw that myself. It's probably one of my favourite films of all time and is definitely one of those where the less you know before you watch it the better.

Porco Rosso - 7/10

Pretty good. I'll likely watch more of these films.

Booksmart - 7/10

I’ve got full blown Stayfever at the moment so maybe that didn’t help my mood, but this was nowhere near as great as the reviews made it out to be. It’s ok but nothing special.

Birds of Prey- 7/10

Fun but it's too long and the cast are separated for too much of the movie. It's basically a Harley Quinn solo film.

My Neighbor Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service.

I watched both last night and both were pretty good but I think I preferred the second one.

Birds of Prey 4/10 it's just dull. Suicide Squad at least had a bit of novelty about it.

The Train 6/10 - On iPlayer it's alright but as far as WW2 train movies go Von Ryan's express is more fun and interesting.

Delighted that parasite won best picture and best director last night. it's an absolute classterpiece.

Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol 8/10
Very fun MI film, not as good as Fallout though.

Taken 3 4.5/10
Worst of the series, but seeing Liam Neeson killing people is always entertaining

Train to Busan 9/10
Heard positive things about it so gave it a shot, easily one of my favourite horror films, so tense and very snappy pace.

Cell 3/10
Bar a decent opening and Samuel L Jackson in it, the whole film is a boring, dreary mess.

Birdman

I remembered it being brilliant but, strawberry float me, that's a great film with a perfect cast.

Castle in the Sky.

Pretty enjoyable. The animation was fantastic though.

Booksmart - 9/10

Found this on Amazon Prime after discovering it didn’t even get a Blu-ray release in the UK. I must admit I’m a sucker for a coming of age film and I watched it with the whole family which elevated it slightly but my favourite film of the year so far. Funny, heartfelt and great performances from the leads.

Stayfever is an illness you get from listening to classic 70s disco tunes. It’s a merge of the titles of the Bee Gees “Staying Alive” and “Night Fever”.

Saving Private Ryan (the opening 35 minutes or so) - 10/10

Been watching WW2 in Colour on Netflix over the last few lunch breaks and decided to revisit the Spielberg classic and it's just an incredible piece of film-making. It's so powerful and visceral, I actually get a bit choked up watching it as the whole affair must have been so completely harrowing to be involved in, plus it really tugs at my old leathery heart-strings with the "letters for Ryan's mum" section, bloody hell here I go again :cry:

Agreed. I watched it a couple of weeks ago and the ending was powerful. That scene where Captain Miller fired his gun to the tank.

It's probably my fave war films easily.

Actually Moggy is right, it's boring and needed more CGI.
