The best WW2 doc is The World at War, if you've not seen it then be sure to do so asap.

Yeah I've seen all of that already - agreed, it's brilliant.

Moggy wrote:The World at War - 1/10

Black and white rubbish, unable to finish watching as it’s not in 4K.

Actually Moggy is right, it's boring and needed more CGI.

A Michael Bay remake would fix the problems.

It would certainly be accurate, just like the 'London' car chase in The Last Knight which at one point featured shots containing US buildings and street signs.

Been watching WW2 in Colour on Netflix over the last few lunch breaks and decided to revisit the Spielberg classic and it's just an incredible piece of film-making. It's so powerful and visceral, I actually get a bit choked up watching it as the whole affair must have been so completely harrowing to be involved in, plus it really tugs at my old leathery heart-strings with the "letters for Ryan's mum" section, bloody hell here I go again

I preferred the sequel, Shaving Ryan's Privates :datass:

Transformers The Last Knight might be the worst movie I've seen in years. I felt sorry for Peter Cullen being involved in it.

Joker

I'm happy to say it's still excellent and I enjoyed it even more on a second viewing. Phoenix is the best Joker.

Porco Rosso.

I enjoyed it more than the other Studios Ghibli films I've seen lately. A pig pilot sounded funny but it's a great film.

Over the last couple of weeks I've watched Totoro, Kiki and Porco Rosso with the kids and each one is stunning. Thankfully my kids also loved them so I must be doing something right.

JoJo Rabbit
Wunderbar! Brilliantly written, acted, and directed. Each and every character was so endearing, and so funny! For once I actually liked ScarJo! That never happens! And Christ Almighty, that foreshadowing. The sort you only realise was foreshadowing after the battering ram to the gut. I don't think I've ever seen a comedy so funny that made me so desperately sad.

Immediately after, I saw...

Sonic The Hedgehog
As CGI buddy films go,

It was one. :slol:

Man of Steel

Still funk this is great. I didn't hate BvS and Justice League as much as everyone else but it's a shame they managed to strawberry float this up. Hopefully Cavil isn't done being Superman.

Parasite 9/10 - Very good suspense thriller/dark comedy, which gives you insight into the South Korean underclass.

Tales of Earthsea.

It was a bit poor and boring as well. It is the weakest one so far.

Sonic the Hedgehog
Overall, this is worth a watch. As already said, even if it isn’t groundbreaking, it is still a competently made movie with action and character. Sure, it rushes through some things, but everything it sets out to achieve is still able to be recognised and understood. Sonic the Hedgehog's first foray into the movie world has gone successfully, and I hope a sequel can continue to offer more within it.

John Wick 3

A bit meh. Story was really thin and the dog fighting bits were strawberry floating dreadful. Shame, as I enjoyed the first two.

5/10

Man of Steel - 7/10

This was not bad. Liked the fight scenes and how utterly ridiculous they were.

If people think Sonic is a 10, then Joker must be at least a 53.

Birds of Prey - 2/10 - Boring mediocre shite. I watched it a few days ago and the only thing that sticks in the mind is Robbie's annoying as hell voice / accent.
