Man on a ledge 5/10

This film had so many bits where we just paused it and took the piss out of it

About 30 seconds in to the film, a seemingly unimportant bell boy/porter appears in a room with the main character, says something while walking and then disappears. But the guy was clearly William Sadler, one of the most recognisable faces, I mean it's then immediately obvious that all is not as it seems and he's in on it. Were we not supposed to notice?! Its like having Al Pachino playing some guy on reception in the background, of course he's more important than you're supposed to think

Then when the heist is taking place, the insanely hot girlfriend is for some reason wearing a low cut top and bright pink bra that is just push in her massive heaving rack up and out, and every single shot is framed to have her tits be the star of the show  THEN to go in the vault, she has to change in to some figure hugging cat suit... WHY WASN'T SHE IN IT ALREADY  I paused it and said as soon as she was taking the clothes out of the bag, "right, I guarantee this is only a way to get her naked on screen". Sure enough, we cut to her just stood with this suit around her ankles, wearing nothing but a pink bra and thong, bending over showing her strawberry floating absurdly good body off...IN THE MIDDLE OF A DIAMOND HEIST THST RELIES ON TIMING TO THE SECOND AND IS TRYING TO GET A DIAMOND TO PROVE THE GUY'S INNOCENCE BEFORE THEY SHOOT HIM AT ANY SECOND    Rack woman also has to open a panel and cut wires for some reason, despite the little alarm panel being the kind of thing that would just have a little circuit board with not much on it, but no this thing has lots of big wires criss crossing the board to provide time for us to look at her arse and rack once more tension. After this bit though, she changes BACK OUT OF THE SUIT BACK TO THE CLEAVAGE SUIT    WHY?!

Then the end scene of the film is everyone just at the pub, including the negotiator, minutes after he's just held up what could be a fake diamond and some homeless guy just goes "hey everyone he's innocent after all" and everyone including the news and the police just let him go  THEN we see William Sadler and they reveal he's actually a really important character ALLL ALLOOONG. Like we didn't guess immediately

Altered Carbon Resleeved - 8/10

I'm pretty sure this is rated higher than a lot of people would rate it, but I really enjoyed it. I thought it looked great - heavily inspired by Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell - and the soundtrack was clearly influenced by the latter as well. Very gory, enjoyable fight scenes, doesn't overstay its welcome, and a simple plot but one that is entertaining enough.

Vertigo 7/10, bit of a slow burner was getting pretty bored until the twist.

The Platform - 7/10

Enjoyable but felt they could have done more with the premise.

Ponyo

I've seen it a few years ago and I've re-watched it. It was a pretty good film and the scene where Ponyo kept running on the sea waves was fantastic.

I watched Ponyo so many times with my daughter when she was a bit younger that she now hates it

I still love it

Probably my favourite Studio Ghibli film. Up there with Wall-e as one of my favourite feel good movies that can't help bring a smile to my face.

Pom Poko.

I'm not sure what to think about this. It made me chuckle a lot and those raccoons' balls.

You're in for a real treat then, Whisper of the Heart and Spirited Away in particular are two of my all time favourite films.

When Marine Was There.

I liked it. My first thought that the two girls were lesbian ( ) and fell in love with each other but once the story is getting deeper I thought no it wasn't right. At the end, it was a nice and closure ending for Anna.

Started watching Detective Pikachu but it's just so cringe. The Pokémon are cool but every actor (apart from Ryan Reynolds and the main kid) is just embarrassing. The news girl, the Charizard trainer, the angry news man.... eugh, I felt sick every time they were on screen.

Whisper of the Heart.

I enjoyed it but I wouldn't say it is one of my faves though.

Really? I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's obviously for young kids but I thought it was a bit of fun.
