Predator 7/10- Lots of fun but I wasn't feeling the Predators special laser and heat vision special effects tonight.

Escape From L.A. 7/10 - This was so stupid, I really dug it. The doll head car ain't as smart as the chandelier car though.

Aladdin (2019) - *

A real disaster.

Invaders from Mars (1986) - ***

Ma - ***

Great performance by Octavia Spencer. A little laggy in the middle, but a good way to spend a Friday night.

Bad Boys For Life - 7/10

The best of the series by a long shot.

Star Wars IX

It was...fine, but my God has this series gotten stuck in its own gravity well of nostalgia and self reference.

The pizza delivery scene is so visceral and well-animated - I still often think of it.

Bone Tomahawk - 7/10
I enjoyed this. One of those films that's not particularly full of action - only really the final third has all much going on, and even then it's relatively little - but it's compelling nonetheless, and didn't feel like a two hour film. The old man is a bit annoying, but otherwise there's not much to criticise. It was quite different to what I expected though. All I ever heard about the film was 'gory horror', but apart from one scene I don't think you could call it gory at all, and I wouldn't describe it as a horror film really. Still, that's just semantics. Good film.

Taxi Driver 7/10: It's better than Joker. Thought it would be better.

Memento 7/10: Nice idea, probably could have been executed slightly better.

Casino Royale

9/10 Absolutely top tier Bond. It's a strawberry floating crime what followed though.

I wouldn't give it that rating, but it is still shite.

I didn't realise this opinion was controversial. I watched the original version and not the extended version, and it felt so hollow. I did enjoy the alien sniffing Ripley though.

It's a step down from the first two, but pretty much anything is a step down from those films. I still really like it myself.

Gladiator - 11/10, had a little belated 20th anniversary party (just me and my bf) for it, best film ever, have watched it about 400 times and it never gets old for me.

I still cannot stand the poker scene. Excruciating.

Skyfall was better.
