The karate kid - 7/10

We've just finished watching Cobra Kai, which was excellent, so went back to watch the films. I've only seen the first maybe twice, and I've not seen the others at all. It's pretty standard 80s film wise, but good fun and I enjoyed it.

The karate kid part 2 - 3/10

It'd have been easy to just repeat the first film, so fair play for not just doing that, but god this was awful. Not really holding out much hope for part 3.

Warrior- 8/10

A MMA film about two brothers entering the same competition. Started pretty slowly, but once the fighting started it was thrilling and absolutely brutal.

Top Gun - 9/10
I'd never seen this before so had to finally fix that. It has held up surprisingly well and the flying scenes are stunning. Very well shot. Looking forward to the sequel now.

Alladin - 7.5/10
The will smith one. It was actually better than I expected. Great camera work and CGI.

2001: A Space Odyssey

Never seen this before. Amazing to think this was made before we'd even been to the moon, it stands up amazingly well and it's influence is instantly apparent. We need to bring back the interlude.

I thought the Will Smith Aladdin was surprisingly good, it's just a shame that it had to try and live up to an impossibly strong performance from Robin Williams in the original.

The final match of the tournament in this with About Today playing was absolutely brilliant. Warrior was a real surprise for me, very strong movie.

I'm in the minority in that I really didn't like Warrior with it's cop out Hollywood last fight.

Colour out of Space - 8/10

Doesn't all hold together as well as it should. But moments of greatness and nods to The Thing in a couple of body horror bits.

Wish my image sig would work

Wife wasn’t feeling well so we had a Disney day.

Princess and the Frog - 8/10. I really like this film.
Tangled - 8/10. Same again, just a fun movie.
Coco - 10/10. I could write many paragraphs about why I love this movie but nobody needs to hear it really.
Treasure Planet - 6/10. It’s alright, but I can see why it bombed so hard.

The Benson Murder Case - 6/10. for a movie from 1930, a pretty good murder mystery. little to obvious who the killer was though.

I would have swapped those scores around.

Tangled is perfection. Adore the soundtrack

Really need to watch Treasure Planet and Atlantis, too. Bought the blurays years ago and still haven't touched them.

Watching the ending Coco was the closest I've been to crying with joy in a long time. Beautiful film.

Agreed, I'd put Coco straight up there with top tier Pixar films.

Coco strawberry floating ruined me. By far the most I’ve ever cried at a film.

Still only watched it the once because of that, too scared to give it another go.

Tangled never grabbed me and doesn't have enough songs. Those it has are good but it needs more damn it!

I've not seen Tangled or Frozen so can't judge.

But they'd have to be the greatest movies of all time to beat Moana.
