The most enjoyable classic Bond i've seen so far, the hollowed out volcano set was quality.

The best of the Connery Bonds.

Perhaps the best Bond full stop.

The Old Guard - 5/10

Not crap, not good, just painfully average.

It could have been great, but seemed more interested in setting up sequels than just telling a decent story.

I watched it last night and felt exactly the same. It wasn't as crap as I expected just terribly dull, and they probably should have trimmed 30 minutes from the running time.

My comment when it finished was that it's just setup for a sequel. If they do make a sequel then it got me interested enough to watch that, as there is potential.

5/10

Everything was there for it to be good. It's basically a modern Highlander with a great cast. But they were far more interested in a franchise.

IT: Chapter One - 5/10

Bang average, not scary and relied far too much on CGI. Kids were all good at the acting, but the film itself was weak.

The Negotiator 8/10

8/10 Bridge Of Spies shame about some of the obvious CGI effects but still a good cold war thriller

Papillon (1973) 7/10 - A fun adventure for the most part, but the latter half felt a little aimless, skimming through a lot of the juicier bullshit present in the book.

The book is really interesting. Largely, because it's disputed as to how much of it was the author's own experience. I really enjoyed reading it despite that.

The Highwaymen (Netflix 2019) - 8/10

Very enjoyable Depression-era crime drama, with Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson as a couple of old gun-slingers brought in to deal with Bonnie & Clyde. Based on the true story which I didn't know much about.

Nice soundtrack and cinematography and good performances from all involved.

Think Unforgiven crossed with The Road to Perdition and you've got this film.

Yeah, I love the book. So much energy on those pages, true or not. Definitely not going to waste my time with the 2017 movie, it looks dump.

The Predator (2018) 2/5 - why the strawberry float was this a Predator film in the first place? :|

Deadpool 2 - 2.9/5 - Eeeeh, it was fine but I'm a bit tired of Deadpool's schtick. Domino and seeing Juggernaut done right were the best things about it.

I was not expecting that to be anywhere near as good (or as brutal) as it was.

Yeah it was strawberry floating brutal in places. I thought it was going to be gooseberry fool, but really enjoyed it. Celeborn was a little too hammy, but had cool tattoos so I let him off.

Marton Csokas is always a good watch. Loved him in Kingdom of Heaven. The scene in The Equalizer with Little John was very violent :datass:
