Bang average, not scary and relied far too much on CGI. Kids were all good at the acting, but the film itself was weak.

Still makes me laugh.

The Prestige - 9/10

Never seen this before but noticed it was on Prime.

I already knew the ending but it didn't really spoil it, fantastic movie.

It's in my top 10 for sure. I love the details you might missed first time around, a bit like Shutter Island which I also really enjoyed.

Caught up now with pretty much every Marvel movie that I've been behind on thanks to Disney+ (still need to track down Far From Home though, damn you Sony!)

Thor Ragnarok: 9/10. Just a really great movie, looks and sounds gorgeous and nails the humour

Black Panther: 9/10. Another storming entry for the MCU, also looks amazing. Don't know why Tim from the office has to keep showing up in these movies though!

Avengers Infinity War: 9/10 (again!) Was almost tempted to give this a 10 as it was just that good. Juggles the sprawling cast of characters very well and gives pretty much everyone something of value to do

Ant-Man and the Wasp: 7/10. Like the first Ant-Man this is fun but just a bit lacking compared to the best in the MCU

Captain Marvel: 8/10. Solid intro for Dancers, loved the 90s vibe and the de-aging tech is getting scarily good now. Inconsistent powers from the hero is a bit frustrating - she can destroy a whole spaceship with her body but struggles to beat up Jude Law?

Avengers Endgame: 9/10 didn't love this quite as much as Infinity War but it's still fantastic. They sold the downer vibe really well at the start and it was nice to see an Avengers movie that was a bit different to usual. Time heist was fun with some cute callbacks and interactions for a few of our retiring heroes. What happened with Loki and the Tesseract though? Guess that's how we get a Loki Disney+ series?

Exactly!

Still not as good as a [7] though.

The Blues Brothers 8/10

I really enjoyed this, having not seen it before. The 2 main characters are just indisputably cool and the plot is so silly and fun. The car chases immense. Loved it.

Equalizer 2 - 7/10

Disappointing compared to the first movie. It's watchable and has some good action, but it's nothing special.

Knives Out: 8/10. Probably went into this with slightly too high expectations after the extremely positive reception it received and having loved everything else I've seen from Rian Johnson. It's bloody good though, especially once you get past James Bond's accent!

It Chapter 2 - 6

There's no reason this needed to be 3 hours long and the film is the poorer for it. The mix of comedy and horror here also isn't as well mixed as the original. It's still good a scary but loses some of the impact because you know what you're getting.

I mean, it's not a good accent but it kinda works for the character somehow.

I thought it was great. 9/10 for me. We didn't get the twist, we were barking up the wrong tree completely and thought Christopher Plummer was behind it all. Great cast, Ana De Armas was the standout i thought, such a likeable character who you really rooted for. And I'm not just saying that because she's the most beautiful girl in the world. A great Brazilian/Uruguayan/Ecuadorian/Colombian actress.

The one thing I really didn't like was the moment when Blanc said he'd known she was involved from the moment he saw blood on his shoe. That was unnecessary, Blanc had already demonstrated himself to be an exceptional detective, it didn't need that extra step especially as it's ridiculous-she was his nurse, she could got his blood on his shoe in any number of ways

Rescue Dawn 9/10 - Surprised by how much I loved this. It's a Vietnam movie with a human element in play, and seeing everyone interact was a joy in itself. Such a natural engrossing escape movie.
