Been rewatching the Karate Kid films today. Half way through number 3 at the moment, one thing I had forgotten was how much of an arrogant cock and a massive baby Ralph was. He would have been very annoying to be around, no wonder Ali left him for Marty Mcfly.

Man Up - 7/10

Feeling ropey at the moment so put something more light hearted on and this did a job. Enjoyable rom-com with Simon Pegg and Lake Bell that didn't outstay its welcome. Ending was a little OTT but it had kind of earned it and thought Lake Bell was really funny. You can do a lot worse with these kind of films i think.

Train to Busan presents Peninsula 7/10
Rather enjoyable sequel to argubly the best Zombie film ever, whilst it's not as strong it's a fun film that feels a bit like Mad Max with zombies.

Tenet 8/10
Not Nolan's best but certainly not his worst, a enjoyable sci-fi spy flick, that tries to be a bit too clever and the sound mixing is awful.

Rogue One was all awful. Darth Vader twirling a lightsabre around does not a good movie make.

Rogue one is the third best star wars film after ROTJ and Empire.

By final act I mean everything once they land on Scarif.

It's the best part of the film but there are no stakes because the film has given me no reason to care about any of the characters.

I think calling it all awful is definitely a step too far but I also struggle with the opening acts. Agree with Cuttooth that it is mostly excellent from the time they land on Scarif.

I think you're all underestimating the absolute hilarity of Forest Whitaker's Saw Gerrara.

Rogue One is the only one of the new gen of movies I can actually remember in any positive light so it has that going for it.

I literally can't remember anything from Force Awakens except the weird bread, and I didn't much care for The Last Jedi because nothing happened.

And I'm pretty sure I saw Solo.

Replace ROTJ with TLJ and you're bang on. Rogue One is excellent

I really enjoyed Rogue One, it's definitely the best of the new Star Wars movies.

Host 7/10

Great little horror film along the lines of Unfriended, set entirely on a Zoom call. Does a great job of building up the tension with some super clever observations on Zoom culture since the pandemic hit, but overplays its hand a little when gooseberry fool hits the fan.

Deffo worth a watch.

Tag - 6/10

It's a bad movie but I enjoyed it despite it being a bit gooseberry fool. A few decent laughs.

The real story is amazing though.

Return_of_the_STAR wrote:Indeed Rogue One was amazing. Definitely the best of the Disney Star Wars movies, potentially my most favourite of all Star Wars films.

I’m still half divided to this day on whether killing them off at the end was a good idea. I would have loved a sequel but having them die gives the film a perfect book ending and stops you asking what happened to Jyn Erso afterwards.

I still think I would rather see a fascinating sequel with these characters set whilst eps 4, 5 and 6 were going on. Giving a different perspective to some of those events.

There will be a Cassian Andor tv series which is a prequel to Rogue One. Possibly showing more of Saw Gerrera.

The others just joined up with Andor in Rogue One film so you wouldn’t see anyone else apart from K2-S0 the droid.
