Rearranged them from best to worst by my opinion:

Rear Window
Vertigo
No Country for Old Men
Psycho
There Will Be Blood
Network
Shutter Island
North By Northwest
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Stand By Me
Following
Winter's Bone
Children of Men
Insomnia
American Beauty
Monsters
Into the Wild

These I haven't yet seen:

Blue Valentine
Rabbit Hole
The Goonies
The Host

Go on a Hitchcock fest. Vertigo, Psycho and North by Northwest.

Was never much of a fan of Rear Window.

I'd never recommend watching so many of Hitchcock's best films within close proximity of each other.

Definitely. You've got a lot of other stuff there so you can space them out a bit.

I concur. Despite two of those films being damn near perfect and the rest ranging from superb to highly entertaining, it'd be a waste to blow through them in extended sessions. One Hitchcock a week, preferably at the beginning of said week.

Rear Window = Psycho > North by Northwest > Vertigo

Vertigo is better film than North by Northwest but I just enjoy the latter so much, whereas Vertigo just has that masterful feel to it.

Currently watching 2001 and it's awesome, will watch 2010 after, pity they will never make 2061 and 3001.

I have listed two Hitchcock's above it and claimed that two of them are damn near perfect, what do you think?

Is it really? I wasn't an eighties kid and have routinely expressed disinterest or dislike for the most popular keepsakes from that era, so eventually I just stopped watching them. This is the one occasion where I'm missing out, isn't it?

Do NOT watch 2010 straight after 2001. It is crap, and may soil the recent memory of something so magnificent as 2001. Overbrimming with unnecessary exposition about everything that wasn't the strawberry floating point in the first film, it tops it off with a cheesy, generic 80s sci-fi feel, and not one iota of atmosphere.

Poncho, why? WHY?!

That's a relief. For a moment I thought I was going to have to begrudgingly find a copy.

But I like 2010, I am also thinking about watching Contact (not as good as the book but Jodie foster is a total babe).

Goonies is a great movie. My niece was over a few years back and stole my copy she liked it that much.

Yeah, I like 2010. I try not to compare it to that other film which has helped my enjoyment.
