Was just about to post my verdict. I found it astonishingly moving, and I'm not at all ashamed to say that I cried like a little girl by the end of it.

Well done Starbreeze, well done Josef Fares.

Josef Fares earlier this year wrote:David Cage’s games: “Films are films and games are games. We need to find our own way of making story in games.”

He certainly found one way of doing it..

Diablo 3 8/10. Fantastic art design with a decent enough story to boot. Needed to include one or two other elements to break up the persistent grinding but overall it was mostly enjoyable.

Tearaway: Fairly short, but oh so sweet and without doubt the best game on the Vita. The most charmingly imaginative game I have played in a long time. It's not perfect and the camera was a little frustrating, but it's easy to see past the games minor flaws when it does so much right. Probably just behind The Last of Us in terms of game of the year for me. 10/10

Need for Speed: Rivals (Xbox One)

I've just finished the racer career and will probably leave it for a little while before I make a start on the cop version.

I quite enjoy arcade style racers and had good fun with this. There's a good array of challenges and you can pick which route you take through the game depending on your strengths and weaknesses.

The cars handle nicely - particularly when you have a decent, fully upgraded one and the game is stunning to look at as it flashes by! My only criticism is that I found the night time a bit tough on the eyes, particularly with police sirens flashing and helicopter spotlights pointing at you. That might just be me though and it was still perfectly playable.

8/10

SquintyMcMistletoe wrote:Xenoblade made me interested in JRPG's again. One of the best games on the Wii. Story kinda goes absolutely insane towards the end, still to this day I'm unsure whether I liked where it went.

I think I've watched both X trailers like 40 times already. I can't wait to play it.

I think it is one of those rare games, a bit like Valkyria Chronicles on the PS3 that will make me actually pick up the system. Love Xenoblade Chronicles. Still need to finish it though. :shifty:

Journey - 10/10

Got this for Christmas. Shoved it on this morning and powered through it. It's not long, but my God is it good. It genuinely felt like, well, a journey.

May well be the definitive version. Loads of options (so many, that I'm surprised they didn't include the slomo PAL version as well) and looks fantastic in 3D. Doing the spin dash in this game feels so wrong, but so right.

Great now I have to buy this. Thanks you jerk. :|

The more people who buy them, the more likely we are to see the second round of games...

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger - 8/10

Really didn't expect it to be as enjoyable as it was. Great fun.

Grand Theft Auto V

8/10

Overall a really good game, but I don't think as much of it as most people seem to. The city looks and sounds great, and for a while there I thought it was going to be the perfect GTA.....but then it went on....and on....and on with no real variation in what I was doing and a LOT of missions that seemed to be just ways of facilitating long, drawn-out, not-as-funny-as-they-think-they-are conversations between characters.

There were times when I actually got bored playing it, but when it's good, it's very good.

Legend Of Zelda : A Link Between Worlds

10/10

Just a fantastic piece of gaming and easily my game of the year. Looked great, played superbly, thoroughly enjoyable from the first second to the last. Magic.

Dead Rising 3

Loved this to start with, the city is great and varied and killing hordes of zombies is as much fun as it ever was. Sadly the story runs out of steam at the half way mark and there are some truly woeful boss battles. Got a little tiresome in the end.

6.5/10.

Uncharted 2 - 8/10

Pretty good. Took me ages to finally get around to finish it, and I think i'll leave it a while before I make a start on 3. Is there any real differences between 2 & 3?

Yes, 2 is a lot better.

3 is the worst of the 3 games by a mile.

They decided to screw up the combat for some reason. And then tack all of these set pieces together really loosely with some fan fiction.

Gone Home - 3/10

I went in with some idea that it wasn't a traditional game and it was more about exploring and examining, and the idea of that did appeal to me. However the 'story' was very dull and just didn't draw me in at all. After playing for 2hrs and exploring every single piece of information in the house I was expecting things to suddenly open up and become interesting, but instead it ended there.

McPixel 4/10

Bit rubbish really. Extra points for some bits of it making me laugh a bit, but overall it was very dull experience.

Gone Home 8/10

Can't think of words to say about it other than I really liked it. Exploring as well figuring out what has happened is great fun.

Evoland - 7/10

Flawed game, but I think it cleverly shows the evolution progress of Action/Adventure (and RPGs); just wish it stays 2D bit longer and have more stuff to do. For £1.74 I can recommend it but any more than that, not really.
