We had a family day out on Sunday and as it was hot, we decided to go to a seaside that we hadn't been to before.

It was a wise choice! Beautiful place, even if we had to drive through almost every street in Swansea as we were diverted due to a half marathon.

Did you also head up to Bracelet Bay? Lovely location that.

Love Mumbles and Bracelet Bay. We'll be going that way in a couple of weeks, really looking forward to it. There's a nice beach slightly further along - Caswell Bay - probably my favourite.

I hope you picked up a Joe's ice cream in Mumbles Moggy.

My shared hallway.

Surprisingly pleasant at the 'mo. No (obvious) druggies or prostitutes. Spoke to a neighbour and the cleaner; all good. A world away from this time last year. [8]

Good shout, Vermi. I'll downgrade it to a [7]. Sometimes that's better than an [8] etc.

Did 2 hikes last week in Snowdonia. Getting into scrambling and these were my first solo outings, so took it careful to make sure I didn't need mountain rescue...

Moel Siabod - 9/10
Fantastic weather, climb up was really good fun but it also has the safety net of a path if you don't fancy the rocks.

Glyder Fawr (via Gribin ridge) & Y Garn - 8/10
More great weather. Ogwen is fantastic but I think I could have picked a more exciting route.

Caerleon Roman Amphitheatre and Museum - 9/10

My son had been there before and so he acted as my tour guide. The amphitheater is impressive, we had great fun standing in the middle shouting "ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!". And by "we", I mean "me". ;)

The museum is quite small, but had interesting exhibits and was a fun way to spend an hour or so.

Worthing - 7/10

Nice in the sunshine and with a lovely cool sea breeze, the beach and pier are decent, but the town centre could do with a bit of tlc.

Caerphilly Castle - 9/10

We had a great time here, 2nd biggest castle in the country and it's mostly intact. I'm bloody glad I live in the 21st century and will never be forced into an army to storm a castle. :dread:

2051: The wealthy elite live in glorious luxury whilst the vast majority of people are service serfs. Moggy joins a group of rebels in Bristol who are planning an uprising to gain equality, and they'll start by storming Caerphilly Castle. Can Moggy's knees take it?!?

Nice try, but I switched sides from Bristol to Wales over a year ago. When the rebels storm Caerphilly, I'll be inside the castle, throwing piss down onto Rubix and Eighthours.

Hold it!!! Moggy... you are now the wealthy elite!?! You'll be in the castle tipping tar onto the serfs!

I can just imagine you sitting alongside Pedz and Victor, drinking fine wines and and buying videogames at launch.

Lovely location that, i've been there during the Big Cheese festival, and when that's on you can do archery and other neat stuff.

Meanwhile...

Marwell Zoo - 9/10

Fantastic place, there was a great variety of animals, they all looked well cared for, and the giraffe house is amazing.
