I know that the PAL and NTSC formats have different framerates/resolutions but was under the impression that was no longer the case with HD/4K TV.

I thought that changed with HD and up as well.

AFAIK even with HDTV PAL uses 25 fps and NTSC uses 24 fps (or technically 23.9 something). I may be wrong and that may have changed completely for 4K broadcast.

Invincible: 8/10

Yeah, this was great. Great animation, great voice work, great story. Well worth a watch.

Was really surprised to discover about 5 episodes in that Mare's live-in mother wasn't Kim Cattrall in old lady makeup :slol: :fp:

Jean Smart has been in loads of things, Watchmen prob the most recent. Coincidentally, she was in an ep of Frasier we watched yesterday.

Clarkson's Farm- 8/10

Obviously how much you can tolerate Clarkson will factor into your enjoyment of this but I really liked it. It's surprisingly educational and it helps that Clarkson's got someone there who tells him he's a moron and will stand up to them. Made me want to play Harvest Moon again but I have no interest in being a real farmer.

Unless it features an episode where Clarkson is fed into a combine harvester and then his remains are collected up and baked into a pie that Richard "The Hamster" (he's not a real hamster) Hammond and James May are forced to consume whilst watching a dairy farmer repeatedly artificially inseminate Richard Littlejohn in the arse in front of a live studio audience before they are all taken out the back of a shed and slaughtered then I don't think I will be watching

Inside No. 9 - series 6 - 5/10

A very disappointing series of a normally very solid show. There were a couple of good episodes, but way too much rubbish.

Mad Men

How did it take me so long to get round to this? Outstanding television :datass:  really quite sad that it's all over.

A lot of the time it reminded me of The Sopranos, despite the different themes (that could easily be argued aren't so different after all) and the quality is almost right up there alongside it.

Just watched the last episode of series 4 of Inside No 9, Live:Dead Line, think this would have been much better watching it live to be honest, watching it on iPlayer with the various technical ‘glitches’ didn’t really have the same impact I feel. Generally been very impressed with a lot of the episodes of this so far though.

Expedition Back to the Future - 4/10

What should be a really interesting look at old props and making a time machine replica, is bloated out with 80% of the show being filled with pointless acted out scenes.

That's an oddly specific fantasy.

Whatever floats your boat I guess.

Altes Geld - 4/10
Sort of a strange / weird, Lynchian, Succession (not as good as that sounds) set in Austria, with lots of incest and horrible people. To be fair, I couldn't be arsed finishing it, so it gets a point for each episode I watched.

Warrior (Season 1) - 7/10
The story is based on Bruce Lee's writings, with input from Shannon Lee and the writer of Banshee; and directed by Justin Lin. Based on the Tong Wars in San Francisco, it's in the vein of Peaky Blinders, but not quite up to that standard. It has the Starz nudity and violence, but the fight scenes are slightly underwhelming and it can be hard keeping track between the gangs at the start. Still, it shows promise going in to the next. Also, HBO has picked it up for Season 3.

Sweet Tooth 8/10

I wasn't expecting much to be honest but I was pleasantly surprised and disappointed when it finished after only 8 episodes.

Mindhunter S1

Outstanding TV. It's been a long time since I've been so hooked on a show as that.

Time.

A fantastic BBC Prison drama mini series starring Sean Bean and Stephen Graham. Only three episodes.

I was literally panicking towards the end as you all know…Sean Bean always die . I actually like his character and was getting very worried.

Stephen Graham is excellent as the prison guard as well, trying to make his son who is in prison safe by breaking the law.

I've recently finished watching two series, The Mandalorian Season 2, and The Boys Season 2.

Mando has been the best Starwars IP in the last 20 years (well tied with Rogue One anyway) and I popped massively at the ending when THAT things happened (keeping spoilers away just incase). I absolutely can't wait for a Season 3, but in the meantime we have Book of Boba Fett and Obiwan to look forward too!

The Boys is just genius, Season 2 really upped the ante from Season 1. A real rollercoaster of emotions and a few tasty plot twists! I really can't wait for 3!

One of the most entertaining shows I have watched in a long time.

Yeah, it's a great show, i really enjoyed it.

As you said though, Sean Bean being in it did make me a little nervous as to his fate.

Watched the first couple of episodes and its brilliant, I couldn't stop laughing at the bit in ep2 where the sheep headbutted the guy at the auction

Love how utterly clueless Clarkson is with everything .
