Watching season one of the Clone Wars. I know it's a kids show but I wish the good guys would lose once in a while. It feels like the separatists aren't actually that big of a threat.

Welcome to Star Wars. It's why The Empire Strikes Back is the best film, in my opinion.

Surely that's more when the clones switch side than the separatists doing it themselves.

The Frankenstein Chronicles - S2 - 6/10

Not as good as the first series and was polluted by having a character played by Laurence Fox. At least his character was a slimy scumbag, it must have been easy for him to play.

The Marvelous Mrs Maisel - S1, 2, and 3 - 10/10

Didn't expect to but I loved this!
Feels like one of those shows were everyone involved is at the top of their game. The cinematography in particular is incredible. Can't wait for season 4.

House S7 - Oof

Those who were about back in the day will have to tell me how much I deluded myself about these past couple of series when they originally aired because I think I've scrubbed it from my memory. I'm not actually sure how many times I've seen these episodes I have no memory of some of them so maybe I've just not included them in past rewatches. It starts of ok, though the House Cuddy relationship feels weird for the first several episode. Neither of them acting in ways an actual human being would. There's a sweet spot in the middle where there's some legit character growth that feels earned but there's never really the interesting patients to back it up. It goes off the rails pretty hard though and that musical episode is absolute gobshite. The finale is just strawberry floating preposterous. Worst offense is that it kind of betrays a lot of well established character traits and is kind of boring in doing so.

IIRC even though you loved the show, I think you did recognise it had declined substantially by that point. I don't remember a musical episode though.

The Boys (season 1) 9/10 - Unexpectedly, one of the best shows I've watched in a while (well, apart from Watchmen a couple months back!). Well entertaining and funny to boot. Currently halfway through season 2 at mo; we're just powering through it.

The Looming Tower 8/10 - All about the investigations prior to the 9/11 attack and how it could have been prevented. The lead FBI guy was a producer on the show, so theres a real sense of authenticity to it all. Though, being nitpicky, it prob could have done with less on the personal life of O'Neill (J Daniels character).

Anne with an E: Season 1

10/10

It was recently released on blu ray so i bought the complete seasons 1-3 boxset, it's very different to the series' i normally watch, and is a breath of fresh air as a result of that.

Stunning series, beautifully shot, brilliantly written, and wonderfully acted by an amazing cast.

Amybeth McNulty is an incredible actress and she really does steal the show.

I've just finished The Mandalorian season one. Really good; for me, surprisingly so. Terrific stories, great use of classic characters in new situations and an excellent look and feel; the Star Wars atmosphere was captured very well. [9].

Fortitude Season 1 9/10 Really intriguing, set up very well, couple of annoying plot holes/things which happened just for misdirects & then made no sense later.

Fortitude Season 2 7/10 Wasn't as polished and felt a bit rushed at the end. More left field than Season 1. Hopefully Season 3 which is only 4 episodes ties it all up.

The Mandalorian (season 2) 8/10 - Not overly fond of the single, monster of the week episodes, especially when there's only a miserly 8 eps. Still, it really hit its stride halfway through and the new characters were great additions. Looking forward to seeing more of them.

Finally gotten round to watching Black Mirror, currently up to ‘White Christmas’ episode of series 2. I really enjoyed most of Black Mirror when I first watched it and for the most part I’d say it’s more enjoyable second time round. Obviously some of the episodes that get their shock factor via late twists might suffer a little more but again, catching more of what’s happening with the characters despite knowing the twist could be advantageous. I might skip a couple of episodes that I didn’t enjoy first time round though.

Anne with an E: Season 2 - 10/10

A second wonderful series, the characters are just as good as the first season and i've grown to like them even more. Highlights include a hair dye experiment gone hilariously wrong, and a truly heartwarming christmas play.

Will start season 3 tomorrow.

Is that the one where:

The guy gets 'put on ignore' by the rest of the population?

If so, yes that's a lot worse than anything 2020 has given us.

Metalhead is probably the most bleak episode though.

That's the one. Metalhead is one of the few I haven't watched yet.

I like that episode a lot, probably because of the suave guy that gets put on ignore. Decent actor.
