Have you read the books out of interest?

never even heard of the books before I saw the trailers for the series, so don't know how different everything is

Guys I am sad that Arcane isn't properly on Metacritic, presumably because there's not enough MC-approved mainstream reviews or something.

But it'd put it more on people's radars if it was there with its (likely) stellar reviews a la Rotten Tomatoes, on which it ha 100 percent (!).

Edit:

I've been fanboying, telling everyone about it, wanting to share it with people. And I know basically nothing about LoL. Job well done I guess to Riot games?

Think episode 4 of Wheel of Time was my favourite so far. Show is developing nicely.

I stopped watching Walking Dead after about series 4 as I had a feeling it would end up a meandering mess and spend ages going nowhere.
Can someone point me to a short summary of the overall story and ending or just give a short description of the ending.

I assume they never find a cure.

Zombies, bad humans, stupidity, more zombies, idiotic decisions and an increasing sense of boredom

You're welcome

That's what I was expecting.
It could actually have been a half-decent series if they'd stuck to just trying to find a cure and spent 4 or 5 series doing so with an actual ending one way or the other.
This thing where they just string out 8 series + of mostly filler is just a total waste of time.

I bloody loved it. A massive step up from the first 3 episodes.

Hugely different to the books (I am hoping comments like that annoy Ad7), but really good stuff.

Beyond Evil - 9/10

It's taken me ages to get through this, but it's been worth it. Started out with an odd first episode, which almost made me give up on it, but it steadily gets better and better to the point where it's now probably one of the best series I've watched in a long time. You need to concentrate to keep track of what's going on, but it's really worth it. Some of the acting is superb, and the plot keeps you guessing right until the end. The soundtrack's great too. My only criticism is that it perhaps didn't need to be quite as long and drawn out, but otherwise I can't fault it much at all. Very highly recommended.

The Beatles: Get Back - 10/10

Nearly 8 hours of people talking, smoking, sitting in silence, arguing and practicing the same songs over and over.

But incredible viewing. And the rooftop concert at the end is awesome.

Obviously not a documentary for people that dislike the Beatles though.

I gave up on the walking dead at the start of series 5. I've just read the Plot synopses on Wikipedia and it sounds fine enough, but so much filler to get a 16 episode season out of it. If each season was around 8 episodes I'd probably have continued watching.

Lupin (Seasons 1 & 2) 7/10
Enjoyed it for what it is; entertaining, light, frothy fun with a likeable cast. That, at times, can be quite clever, but, can also be equally as dopey (re: convenient and ridiculous). Sometimes, it's just best to switch off and not think too hard!

Wheel of Time 1x05- The timeskip was a weird choice. It gets the characters together again faster sure but then you lose character stuff with Thom.

Slower episode than last week, but I really enjoyed the Whitecloak scenes.

I didn't mind the timeskip but it's weird that they have gone to Tar Valon rather than Caemlyn. I guess it gets Mat cured of the dagger quicker, but misses out on Elayne?

Minor book spoilers- They have cast Elayne (and Min). Skipping Camelyn does make sense for TV as doesn't it not appear again until like book 4 or something? If you want to save money, don't build that set until you need it. The streets of Tar Valon looked very much like a redressed Shadar Logoth.

Did you notice Padan Fain was visible in the Tar Valon streets?

Yeah I get that it saves money, but it changes a lot of the story by having Rand in Tar Valon.

I didn't notice Fain, I'm looking forward to him being unmasked.

Wheel of Time 1x06- Another really good episode! Entirely character and lore focused but Rosamund Pike was great.

Yeah it was great.

I'd imagine one certain group of people are furious about one of the changes "pillow friends" actually being lesbians.
