The Walking Dead: World Beyond (Prime Video)

I have watched both the first and second series (I read that’s it and there won’t be anymore) at the start I hated it and thought I would not bother watching the rest but after a couple of episodes I started to get into it and I really enjoyed it and I am quite sad it’s all over as I became invested in the characters and the world

10/10

The Holiday (C5)

Looked good on the trailers but the reality was a extremely dull and boring series with just one twist and the twist was not even that shocking, I didn’t care about any of the characters or there lives

2/10

Dopesick - 8/10

Really good show about the pivotal role of oxycontin in the US opioid epidemic starring Michael Keaton, Rosario Dawson and Peter Sarsgaard. How the strawberry float any of the Sackler family remain at liberty is simultaneously astonishing and unsurprising.

Severance - 10/10

Thought this was gripping from start to finish. An intriguing, surreal, nightmarish, funny, thought-provoking sci-fi satire on corporate culture. Season 2 can't come soon enough.

Season One hasn't finished yet. Episode 7 is out now. There's 9 in total.

Shadow & Bone

Overall I enjoyed this, but a lot of the time it felt like a sixth form drama student project that happened to have a very large budget.

Some of the fight scenes were very good, particularly early on, and some of them were very bad. The romance arc of the magic heart woman and the 'witch hunter' man was not just awful, but almost unwatchable in how cringeworthy it was. But then the friendship/romance arc between the two main characters felt genuine and well crafted.

A lot of plot development happens far too quickly to make you feel truly invested in it and in my opinion the principal peril held no credibility whatsoever: the big bad dude needs to kill a stag, which he has been seeking without success, presumably for centuries, only for our hero to find it a few days in to his search – oh and by the way the big bad dude is suddenly there as well, so he has it now...

The more I think about it, even while simply typing this out, the worse it gets  but I did enjoy it overall and I will watch series 2 when it comes out. Just don't bother with it if you're going to be put off by the feeling that you're watching a bunch of posh kids do fantasy LARP.

On my second rewatch of Lost and Lord.. Jack is hella annoying on my second run. There’s one episode where he’s completely agreeable and fine one minute the next scene he’s fuming at the same thing.

Locke & Sawyer though, really my favourite characters early on

So 10/10 again

The Book of Bobba Fett (Season 1) - 8/10
Plenty of fan service and after the first few eps it's a Bobba Fett show in name only. Tbh, I really didn't expect much, but I ended up enjoying it more than Mandalorian. Mainly due to the overarching story and its less episodic nature.

The Last Kingdom (Season 5) - 6.5/10
This always suffered from releasing its seasons at the same time as Vikings. While it was never a top tier show, it was usually pretty solid. Though this final season was a bit disappointing, it was good to see the story properly wrapped up.

Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown (Seasons 3 to 6) - 8/10
Just finished season 6, with plenty yet to go. Such a great show; it's always so informative. Could just do with less butchery! Especially as we usually watch it during the weekly lunchtime.

Snowpiercer (series 3)

This one might actually have been my favourite series so far. It's ridiculous, as always, and you have to be prepared to wave things away in order to enjoy it, but it's clear that everyone involved is having a huge amount of fun making it and the actors have really grown into their characters over the course of all the series.

Series 4 will be quite dramatically different and I think they are really going to struggle with it. But let's see!

Reacher

This is cheesy as strawberry float but pretty entertaining nonetheless. A massive step up from the Tom Cruise movies.

7/10

I got about halfway through series 3 before becoming uninterested in it really, parts if it were good but then the rest just didn’t grab me.

Just finished off series 6 of Peaky Blinders, after not really enjoying series 5 I was tempted not to watch this but thought I may as well. I’d give it a 6/10, it’s a solid final series but not anywhere near as good as the first 3.

Does anyone know if there's a legal way for me to find Law & Order s21 for view in the UK?

Likewise, is there anywhere other than 5USA where I can watch the original series? I can't find any information beyond extortionately priced old boxset DVDs.

None of the UK services have it. You'd probably need to VPN to the US to get it legally.

It’s almost single handedly kept me from cancelling my Apple TV sub. Best television of the year.

Cheers for this, I've ended up just purchasing copies of all 20 seasons from the first run on iTunes. It's for a project I'm half assedly working on, so having decent quality copies of every episode is a good thing. And someone else picked up the tab, which can only be a good thing!
