Excellent dramatisation of the OJ case. I knew little bits of what happened but the whole story is strawberry floating crazy.

It lost half a point for John Travolta's weird face.

We really enjoyed that, but some of the acting was terrible, and I didn't believe the main guy was OJ at all.

If you can (or you've not seen it already of course) look for the OJ thing on Disney plus, it think it's called made in America (or something like that). Its even better, and strawberry floating crazy seeing all the stuff from the dramatisation, but with the real people.

The Good Place Series 1 9/10 - Really enjoyed this, exactly my kind of programme. The last few episodes particularly are excellent.

I've heard S2 isn't as good but it has a higher score on RT.

I disagree on the acting, I thought it was all good. Travolta did well even though he can barely move his face these days.

I agree on Cuba Gooding Jr though, he just didn't look anything like OJ. OJ and Cuba are so famous that it made it difficult to accept him in the role.

I'm a bit OJ'd out now but I'll check out the Disney doc when I feel like dipping back in.

Johnny, Marsha and the other prosecution guy were good, it was the supporting actors that I mostly didn't believe. Maybe it was because we'd seen the real equivalents not that long before.

Travolta I never got used to. His face

Season 2 is fun, but i didn't enjoy season 3 as much as it kinda felt like they were running out of ideas.

I found The Good Place to be massively disappointing, watching it after seeing all the praise it got. I think I still have maybe four episodes left of S4 but have had no motivation to go back and finish even though I've heard the finale is great.

Wasn't really anything I liked about it so I guess it just wasn't for me.

I really laughed at the end when they were telling us what happened to the people after the trial. "Mark Fuhrman writes books and contributes to Fox News". Of course he strawberry floating does

Bought Doom Patrol season 1 and 2 for a total of £20 off Amazon. Watched the first episode yesterday and it was better than every single Marvel Disney Plus show.

Wait you got all the way to the end of season 4 before deciding you didn't like it?!
That's perseverance for you. I'd have ditched that bad boy during season 2 for sure.

Season 1 > 4 > 3 > 2 Is my preference.

Was looking at that in HMV the other week, but got Stargirl season 1 instead (haven't started it yet though).

DC launched a whole bunch of random shows at the same time, none of which i'd heard of before they started to appear on DVD/Blu Ray.

Let us know how how you get on with the rest of the series.

It's because they were all created for DC's America only comic book and TV streaming platform DC Universe which has apparently failed before it even got released in the UK. And now the exclusive shows they made for it are being released on HBO Max in the States. Titans got bought by Netflix over here but Doom Patrol is marooned on Starzplay whatever that is. Stargirl was free to stream on Amazon Prime at one point as was Swamp Thing.

The White Lotus - 9/10
Tied with Mare of Eastown for my favourite show of the year so far. It's a slow burn but once it kicks into life it has an intoxicating, manic energy. Murray Barlett deserves to be a star after his performance.

Mad Men 1

Good TV, looking forward to the sequel. Betty Draper is really lovely and I want to take care of her.

The Serpent. - 7/10.

It was alright, not the best acted thing ever, but good enough. Could have done with being a couple of episodes shorter as it started to drag at the end.

The Leftovers

Very late to this one and I haven't finished the series yet, but last night watched episodes 7 and 8 of the second season, where Kevin poisons himself and ends up in a hotel as an international assassin, either in limbo between life and death or in his own sub-conscious. This show is brilliant, absolutely loving it so far. Some of the writing and acting is so good, there was a scene with Regina King and Carrie Coon doing a questionnaire a few episodes ago that was some of the best stuff I've watched in ages.

Will be a definite 10/10 for me if it can maintain this quality, and I've only ever heard good things about the ending so I'm optimistic.

The Sopranos (second viewing) - 10/10

I think it's quite simply the best TV show I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. It was amazing the first time round but on a second run-through you pick up on so much more of the story and characters, as well as the general way that the world works in the show. Gandolfini was an absolute master of his craft (and it's so strawberry floating sad that he's gone :( ), but everyone was brilliant in it. Shoutout to Paulie for being amazing at acting even though he spent most of his life being an actual gangster, I loved his character and all of his idiosyncrasies.

Brutal, uncompromising, deep, dark, funny, heart-warming, intensely sad, profound, adrenaline-pumping, tragic - god damn it's just so strawberry floating good.

It's such a shame we'll never get to see the aftermath of the finale, but I guess some things are just meant to be left to our imagination. Plus we've kind of already seen what life after Tony would have been like, as he was effectively dead when he was in his coma and we saw how life would have gone on without him.

Love it

I'm currently watching through it for the first time. Annoyingly I had a massive break between the first and second season (which I'm on now) so am having to read up on stuff that I'd completely forgotten about :fp:

I don't think season 3 is as good as season 2 but it's still great. That questionnaire scene, International Assassin and the finale are my favourite things from season 2. Season 2 is a masterpiece.

I watched season 1 and just felt the show was to depressing

Though I like handmaid's tale and people find that uncomfortable (for good reason)
