Watching Outlander. I didn't think I'd like this, being that I'm not really in the demographic it's chiefly aimed it.

It's not bad! I like a lot of the people involved in the production mainly, Ron D Moore, Ira Steven Behr and Bear McCreary. It was because of them, I gave it go. Very well acted show. Great production values. Nice character drama.

Finished Castlevania as well. Not sure what I'd give it. I really, REALLY enjoyed it though.

For All Mankind - S2 - 9/10

Fantastic second season and sets up S3 to really push things forward.

Thought that new episode of Inside No 9 was terrible :dread:

Didn't work at all for me. Quick look on Twitter and it seems to have gone down well though :?

Yeah it was comfortably the worst episode of the entire show for me. An annoying waste of Paterson Joseph and Gemma Whelan.

Yeah I'd agree on it being the worst. The jokes didn't land at all and I found the breaking the 4th wall premise annoying, rather than clever.

The Fall S1

Probably a 7/10. Largely decent, my main problem with the role is Spector. I listen to *a lot* of true crime and most serial killers with families tend to be very outgoing, pillar of the community types. In addition to being a family man, Spector is cast as a creepy loner. It just doesn't fit the bill, but I suspect they went this route because the actor can't fullfil the charismatic attributes required.

Also the name of the show is stupid. But Gillian Anderson is excellent as usual.

We watched most of the first series but got bored and didn't finish it. Was alright, just better things came along and we didn't go back.

Snowpiercer, 5 miles long (external shots show it about 10 regular cars long).

Feels like a bit of a guilty pleasure but I have really enjoyed both series so far. It is ridiculous and very much on the nose but it's good fun.

I think I do remember dodgy external shots but I guess the budget increased for series 2 as it does get better in that respect!

I thought S1 of Snowpiercer was really good, but S2 was a boring slog that I gave up on after about 6 episodes. It really lost any reasons to really exist and had nothing else to say.

Shadow and Bone.

Theres a lot too this, maybe a bit too much. After watching E1, I googled it - A glossary of the people, places and things helps alot to get an understanding of the lore and whats going on. It really needs something at the start to give all the exposition. Other than that I really liked it. No filler, good pacing. Interesting characters. A couple of good performances. Good fantasy story. 9/10.

I enjoyed Shadow and Bone but thought it was considerably better during the Kaz/Jesper/Inej scenes. Was surprised to find out they're not even in the original books and were brought in from a spin-off series or something.

Thought you lot might be exaggerating how bad the new episode of Inside No 9 was.

You weren't. :dread:

Glad I'm not alone in thinking it was terrible. Hopefully the rest will be much better.

Jesper and the general guy who was in punisher and westworld are the two best characters.

Castlevania S4 10/10

Utterly excellent end to the series, hopefully there'll be a spinoff at some point, maybe involving one of the later Belmonts.

It’s gorier than it has ever been, which I didn’t mind. The excessive swearing I did mind, I like cursing as much as the next person but the language was frankly silly. Took you out of the moment at times.
Excellent show, have a real soft spot for it for some reason.

I spent the whole episode thinking Steve Pemberton was playing Arlo as well as the Doctor and wondering why they wouldn't just cast another person and how complicated it must have made filming.

Did anyone watch the last season of Vikings? I'm 2 episodes in and it's all a bit meh. I feel it's been dragging for a while now.

The 2nd part of the final season is just so painfully average; they basically ran out of story to tell. Will be interesting to see if Vikings Valhalla can bring it back to its glory days.

Yup! Ditto for the first part too.
