Joe Wilkinson's part in S3 made me laugh, but I was howling with laughter when he was walking home with Otis and said something like "you're like an old man in a little body aren't you?"

One episode of Squid Games left now which I’ll be watching tomorrow, I’ve enjoyed it a lot more since the ‘games’ actually started and switching to Korean with English subtitles as I wasn’t a fan of the English dub to be honest.

Always watch in the native language if you can. Will be starting squid games soon.

Have you watched Alice in borderland?

I’ve not but seen that it’s meant to be similar in some ways to Squid Games so will probably give it a watch at some point.

Yeah Squid Games grew on me, I really wasn’t sold on it after the first half an hour of the first episode but it was very good from then on.

Just got one episode left of Midnight Mass too, this really has been building up very nicely into a great series, episode 5 and 6 in particular, will be watching the last episode later. Just makes me want to rewatch Haunting of Hill House and Bly Manor really.

Kingdom series 1. A Korean zombie series set during the Joseon Dynasty shortly after the Imjin war with Japan. 9/10, I can't wait to dive into series 2!

After you finish Series 2 there's a special feature-length episode of the series, titled "Kingdom: Ashin of the North" to watch on Netflix.

Succession (Season 2) 9/10
It really feels like they stepped up everything this season. The performances, writing and comedy were all top tier and it had a great end to the season too. Can't wait for season 3!

Kingdom (Season 1) 7/10
Great production values married to a fine story. Though it struggles somewhat to escape the zombie mould, the events of the last episode were enough to pique my interest again.

We've seen 4 squid games now, so I can confidently say you should watch Alice in bordeland, as it's very similar.

I watched the first episode earlier, thought it was a better opening episode than the first episode of Squid Games to be honest! Are you enjoying Squid Games? Tried the awful English dub? I’m not even going to bother trying it on Alice in Borderland.

No I just stick with the native languages (dark was the first instance of a dub being unwatchable to me).

Oh nice! Wasn't aware of this and have finished both series. Really enjoyed it!

The marbles episode of Squid Game is legit one of the best hours of TV I've seen in a long time. Just superlative stuff.

Yea same. Major echoes of this batshit mental Japanese movie with a similar concept (Leave Fate to Gods, or As the Gods Wish or something), but enjoyable nonsense.

Episode 2: surprise at the overall course of the episode. Wasn't expecting them to leave and to get to know more about their lives outside the arena
Episode 3: genuine tension during the honeycomb game and an audible gasp when the first guy broke his umbrella
Episode 4: goosebumps during the tug of war after the old man's speech

Squid Game :o

Yea same! I'm really impressed by how well it's managing the tone. The premise is ridiculous and the set design only hammers it home, and it could easily fall over into complete absurdity but somehow it's managing to consistently teeter on the right side of silly to keep me involved in the characters rather than waiting for them to die.

Or it could just be that Ms Mysterious is smoking hot. :datass:

Episode 6

:dread: then

I see what you mean Skarjo about the tone. Whenever you think it might become ludicrous, it remains believable. Finished it last night and thought the whole thing was excellent. Wasn't expecting it to set up a series 2. That will presumably have a very different story and feel to the first. :D

Two episodes into Alice in Borderland and I’m loving it, preferring it to Squid Games (which I also thought was going to be loosely based on Splatoon when I first saw the name ) so far as well.

This was a fantastic episode, the realisation that dawned upon them when they realised what the game was.
