Dark Tourist - 5/10
Pretty much a cut price Louis Theroux, who visits the odd interesting thing and a lot of bullshitty things.

Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown (Season 2) - 7/10
Good, but not as good as the first season. A little less interesting, mainly due to the location choices.

The Chestnut Man - 6/10
A decent nordic noir; it's just not that surprising and turns out to be fairly predictable.

Guilt (Season 2) - 8/10
Maintains the standard set in the first season and i found it just as enjoyable. However, was thrown by the change of actor for the main bad guy; I didn't realise until about half way through. :fp:

Only Murders In The Building - 6/10
A light hearted comedy-murder romp with Martin Short as MVP. It's ending was a bit of a damp squib, but I like how it's setup for season 2. Also, Selena Gomez's voice sounds hella odd; or is it just me?

The Spy - 7/10
Strange seeing Sacha Baron Cohen in a straight drama (about an Israeli spy, Eli Cohen). Clearly, this guy had an interesting story/ background, but the story never really lights the touchpaper. It's a bit washed out, like its cinematography.

The Crown: Season 4 - 9/10

Outstanding stuff, the performances of Josh O'Connor & Emma Corrin (Charles & Diana) in particular were amazing.

I got outvoted by a couple of friends and ended up watching the end of Midnight Mass. 6/10 overall.

There was nothing in particular that I could point at and say "this is bad" but on the other hand I just found it a bit meh. I only really felt invested in one character and as soon as he died I really didn't care about the story. The initial mystery didn't really grab me and it didn't feel particularly scary or creepy. I thought the bit where Erin was slicing the vampires wings and he just shrugged and carried on feeding was dumb. I get he's supposed to be all blood drunk or whatever but I'd have thought his self-preservation would have kicked in.

I'm giving it a 6 mainly because I can see why people did like it, it just wasn't for me

Kingdom - Ashin of the North. I'm not sure what I was expecting from this. I enjoyed it but not as much as series 1 and 2. 7/10

Midnight Mass - 7/10

I enjoyed watching it, but I wouldn't say it was fantastic or anything. I felt the angel/demon was weak at the end and I was sure that it has died. Who knows if it escaped at the ending. :dread:

The Outlaws - 9/10

I'm a sucker for anything set in Bristol so was always going to like this. It's a great show though, humour, drama and Christopher Walken.

Fringe: 9/10

I can't believe I missed this first time around. Despite a few wonky episodes at the start of the first season (I assumed the writers were still figuring out whether or not to go X-Files procedural or Lost-arch storytelling) once the show started its own mythology with the parallel universe I was hooked until the end.

The 3 main characters were all brilliant. Joshua Jackson is a bit of a secret treasure (go watch Dr. Death) and I'm amazed Anna Torv isnt in more things. John Noble was absolutely brilliant as Walter. I bought every scene when he was a scientist who lost his mind (although there was more than a little Denethor in his alternate self)

It's still a shame to me that the fourth season came close to ruining the entire series. It deserved a better plan.

I Know What You Did Last Summer 5/10 - it got better as the series went on, but the best I can say about it, is that it was okay. probably would re-watch it though. I guessed who the killer was pretty early on as well.

The Wire (S1) - 10/10
Been doing a rewatch of The Wire. I remember it not clicking with me first time around until towards the end of season 1, but this time I was drawn in right from the start.
It has aged well.

Anyone else been watching the Universe series by the BBC, with Prof Brian Cox? It is majestic  truly mind-blowing and humbling.

Two main thoughts I've taken from it:

1. I'm looking forward to the launch of the James Webb telescope next month and seeing what it can produce over the years

2. Hard yikes at the Andromeda galaxy making a beeline for us and not so much looking forward to colliding with it in a few billion years

Yeah it's a great series. Mind blowing in places. I'm pretty sure I'm too stupid to understand most of it, but I bloody love hearing about it.

Most impressive thing though was his green laser pen.

Brian Cox

I thought that too. He has got a very big and impressive one. I'd love him to let me have a go on it one day .

That bait is way too obvious.

I wouldn't have been able to finish if I held one of that size. I'd just be playing with it and swinging it around. playing

The second season disappointed me quite a bit. But the first is absolutely cracking and it's worthy of the praise. Orlagh is the greatest thing about it.

Grandpa Joe is also awesome.

I've just got done with watching S2 and in all honesty it felt like more of the same to me, in a good way. I can't say I thought there was much of a drop in quality? Hopefully they've got another series in them because I'd be up for more

Good news for you, they are filming S3 at the moment. It's gonna be the final one.
