Silo

Absolutely loved it. It's nothing especially new but the setting is so well realised and there were plenty of twists and turns to keep me gripped. Not sure where it's going to go from here, but I'm really excited to find out.

9/10

The Bear

Just smashed through both seasons over the past week.

Season 1 - 9/10
Season 2 - 6/10

Bar the Thanksgiving and Fork episodes, I thought there was a strong drop off in quality from Season 1 to Season 2. It seemed to suddenly embrace some tired Tropes which I did not see in the 1st Season. I rolled my eyes when they introduced the Beautiful single Doctor from the past. Just all felt very on the nose. Some of the threads didn't seem to go anywhere but they may be saving them up for Season 3. Still an enjoyable show though.

Invincible Season 3 E1-E4

Possibly my favorite TV Show in recent years. Just incredibly entertaining all round with an amazing cast. Also manages to have a pool of diverse characters without feeling like a Disney Tick box exercise. If you haven't seen it then I highly reccomend, although be warned it's extremely graphic.

Just finished Bodyguard which was brilliant.

I think all of the BBC's drama output from about the last decade has passed me by, is there anything similar yous could recommend? Really enjoyed that.

The Fall, with Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan, is worth a look.

Rewatching Friends because of Chandler. Still can't get over it. Still a 10/10.

Yes, we enjoyed the Bodyguard a lot.

The Nest is quite a good drama about a couple who are having trouble conceiving and use an 18 year old surrogate. Stars Martin Compston.

Also, the two seasons of The Capture are worth watching, a lot of well worked tension and drama. Good to go into S1 without knowing too much.

Just finished watching Louis Theroux's interview with Stormzy (BBC iPlayer).

I hadn't known a lot about Stormzy; I'd heard of him and knew that he'd done some pretty tough ("grime"?) songs that have been big hits, but that was about it. I felt that he came across really well in the programme - it seemed that he'd had a tough upbringing and got into a few scrapes, and so it was good to see that he has become successful and that he has a surprisingly relaxed, easy-going demeanour.

An enjoyable watch.

The first season of Time (with Sean Bean) is really good. Wasn't enamoured with the second season though.

The Fall of the House of Usher (limited series, Netflix) - 7/10
While it's more horrific than scary and suffers from a slow start, the performances, the tie-ins to the Poe stories and inventive deaths kept me watching long enough for it to pickup (around the halfway mark). Really enjoyed it by its end.

Ghosts S5 - Just revisiting ahead of the Christmas special. Essentially it's wonderful and the fact there will be no more after the next episode makes it even more so. Similarly to Detectorists, I just love every single character deeply. Perfectly pitched and so, so funny. Special mention to Robin though, he's strawberry floating hilarious. Robin

I think the fact that it is such a familiar setting helps it.
The story is good and the actors are great and it's at least slightly plausible.

It's also filmed in hoddesdon so not that far away which is nice.
