Yeah, season 3 was fantastic, glad Amazon picked it up for season 4.

Speaking of Amazon, I've recently been giving American Gods a go. Not really sure what I think about it to be honest. I find a lot of the scenes just seem to drag, but with very little going on. I'm not keen on any of the characters either, and the lead who plays Shadow really isn't very good at all. Not that I'm surprised as I disliked him all those years ago in Dream Team.

I'm 4 episodes in and not convinced I will be missing out on much if I give up on it, as each episode I've struggled to stay awake. It also seems to think it's more stylish than it actually is. All this slow mo is pretty pointless :dread: .

I don't know why I forced my way through this because whilst the premise is sound the direction and acting continues to be awful, particularly from the lead role. For the writing itself in an attempt to give viewers a strong female lead they've instead ended up with an annoying dullard who always wades in with her size tens and makes a hash of everything. To make matters worse the actress can't, well, act and produces some of the most hilarious "I'm a mean badass" grimaces ever.

4/10

It's one of my guilty pleasure shows.

Just started watching S3 and get the district impression that someone working on the show is a massive Soundgarden fan, every episode is named after a Soundgarden song.

Russian Doll - Excellent. Really enjoyed this. It's funny and clever and with it's short, limited run of episodes never loses momentum. I have mixed feelings on whether I'd want to see another series of this, as it works so well as a single series. 9/10

Narcos: Season One – 9.5/10

I had obviously heard of Pablo Escobar but I didn’t realise the sheer extent of what he got up to and just how much money he made. strawberry float me it is unbelievable stuff but Wikipedia tells me the outrageous stuff is mostly true.

One of the maddest things is that he's responsible for introducing hippos to Columbia, he had some in his own personal zoo which escaped after his death, they're now breeding in the wild.

Yeah I had heard of that before. It’s crazy to think that cocaine has caused hippos to become South American.

Ash Vs Evil Dead season 3, a wonderful conclusion to one of my favourite TV shows ever. As a massive lifelong fan of Evil Dead and fan of Bruce Campbell, this series was perfect in nearly every way.

Absolutely loved the daughter angle in season 3. It had so many hilarious, fun a creative scenes throughout, like the funeral

The ending actually upset me a lot. Faced with the biggest threat he has ever faced, instead of running away he stands up to it. Epically. The goodbyes to Kelly, Pablo and daughter hit them feels :( What made it all worse, was the fact to the three of them, Ash did die facing the demon. They never saw him again. That hurts to think about.

The Tick: Slightly generous 8/10- I liked the heroes but felt the villain was a bit weak. Found this at at the right time as there's a new series starting on the 5th.

I'm watching Fleabag (iPlayer); I've finished series one and I've watched the first episode of series two.

It's odd and great and uncomfortable and brilliant and horrible and moreish. Love it! 8/10 (so far).

I've also just finished watching the first series of Fleabag

Wasn't massively keen on it at the start, but it really grew on me after the second episode or so. Boo  I love how barely anyone actually has a name. The one guy is just credited as "Arsehole Guy" :slol: Olivia Coleman is genuinely quite unlikeable, too. She's really good at playing awful people.

Gonna watch the new Fleabag series soon. But recently I've been catching up with some other stuff on iplayer.

First I watched the whole of Luther having never seen any of it. Really enjoyed it. Slight minus marks for Luther super deduction power of just knowing guilty people by looking at them. This meant some of the actual detective bits were weak. Would have liked the odd story where it took them longer to work out who was doing what. An actual mystery rather then showing us it. Also that it could just stretch into silliness on occasion. Like at the end when you know had a frigging machine gun. Was also a shame that some characters disappeared but maybe if more ever happens then this will happen. Also needed more Paul McGann. Mostly brilliant show.

Next up was Killing Eve and oh my strawberry float was this brilliant. :o It took a couple of eps for it to really get to the point (I was still enjoying it mind) but then it gripped me and I couldn't stop watching. Thrilling and stylish. The biggest thing was just how damn funny it managed to be. When the series ended I just needed more right then. At least I know more is coming. Not ashamed to admit that I may have fallen somewhat in love with a terrifying murderess. She has such verve and its really captured well with the art direction and cinematography. Amazing performances to. Only issues are that they seemed to somehow not bother checking CCTV at the hospital having realised she was there. Not helped by making such a point of CCTV at other points. Also that I'm not sure where Eve's marriage is at by the end. You don't see them actually split but Eve seems to suggest that it's all cost her husband. It kind of got lost in the events near the end.

"Are you going to kill me?"
"Yes.... But first I'm going to use you for sex.... Only joking."

Oh and the beard bit.

Now I'm currently working my way through Line of Duty. It's very gripping but early on I found it very "functional". I partly put this down to the centre of it being DC Charisma Void. The Michael Owen of BBC police officers. The other characters were not the most interesting either, outside of the man they were investigating. Fortunately as its gone on its got stronger in this regard but the former England International is still rather a bore. I was also not a fan of some of the direction/cinematography. My pet peeve was here in full force, excessive shaky cam and this doubled up with the "correction zoom in" in which drama is "intensified" by making it look like all the camera operators kept cocking up. It reminded me of Torchwood. I assume it was meant to make it "gritty and real". All it does to me is distract me. Seriously have a shot everytime this happens and you'll be dead by the end of an ep. Oh and it even had sounds when the camera panned sometimes. It was cartoonish and out of place. Fortunately as I've just started series 3 it seems to have stopped. But if it comes back. :capnscotty:

Kates series 1 hair > series 2 hair.

Killing Eve was written (well adapted for TV) by the same woman that wrote and stars in Fleabag.

Researching all the GoT series from the start and... apparently I just completely forgot I'd seen season 5. Now I'm watching it again, turns out I completely forgot everything that happens in season 5 too.

Odd.

The Umbrella Academy - 8/10

Was very slowly paced for the first couple of episodes and I was considering abandoning it as I wasn't particularly enjoying it but decided to watch a couple more episodes and I'm glad I did as things pick up in the second half of the season as the various story arcs come together.

As others have said, there's a definite X-men: Dark Phoenix vibe to the whole thing. Also never thought I'd see Mary J Blige as an assassin
