Chernobyl - 9/10

Fantastic but left me gob smacked.

I'm halfway through episode 3 and as a fan of Good Omens I'm not sure there could be a piece of television any finer than the first half of that episode. Crowley and Aziraphale through the ages was just absolutely lovely.

There have been many times where literary adaption casting just doesn't work but in this case, Sheen and Tennant are so utterly perfect for the main parts.

13 Reasons Why: Season 1

10/10

Deeply moving and utterly harrowing in equal measure, yet the writing, acting, and story (which really did pull no punches, some of the scenes were so graphic, they were incredibly hard to watch) was truly magnificent.

One of the finest shows i've seen in years.

The Queen soundtrack is a joke in the book that they didn’t explain in the show.

It doesn't take itself seriously at all. It's very daft.

Into the Badlands S3 - 8/10

Can't believe they (AMC) cancelled it and left it at that ending, hopefully Amazon buy the rights and carry it on.

Plot was a bit lacking in places but that's not really why you watch a show like this, the action and fight sequences are the main event .

Chernobyl 10/10

It's easy to forget how much goes into the making of a TV show. The scripts and direction obviously, the acting too. But then there's the cinematography, the production, the special effects, the location work, the casting, the editing, the grading, the music, the foley, the focus pulling, the sound design, the props... Every show from Game of Thrones to Coronation Street is the result of all these different aspects reacting to one another, bouncing off in ways most often even the creators could not possibly have anticipated. The chances of any show, no matter how well planned or shot or produced, being perfect is...tiny. Miniscule.

Chernobyl is perfect.

I cannot think of a single criticism. Every single aspect was just...perfect. This is a show that ran half as long as most premium shows these days and left twice the impact.

A masterpiece.

This show was the best thing I've seen on TV in bloody ages.

It was shocking but in no way overplayed and even if events didn't happen exactly this way I think it's as close as we're ever likely to get.
Everyone involved did a fantastic job and the performances were all excellent again with no need for theatrics or my personal bugbear of booming background music.

Seriously anyone with any interest at all in history or just gripping drama should watch this and I honestly feel this could be a good candidate for something they show in school history lessons if they still do that sort of thing.

The producers have said they tried a few test runs with the actors doing Russian accents but they said it sounded faintly comedic and in the US the English accent adds a certain level of seriousness.
I actually think having the actors just use their own natural voice was a wise choice as we all know this is set in Russia and I think everyone involved had a pretty sombre and serious tone which I felt was perfect.

I don't think getting them to try Russian accents would have added anything.
