Luther was always ridiculous. But I enjoyed it, far more for its symbolism and characters then the actual crimes.

This. If you’re watching it as a serious drama then you’re watching it wrong.

We never took it too seriously, but its schlock went from entertaining to absurd over the course of the first 2 series.

Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing Season 2 10/10

Everything that is wonderful about our little country and none of the shitty bits. The nicest thing I've seen on TV in quite some time, just perfect.

100% this. I’ve got zero interest in fishing but this is just a beautiful show.

I'm in the middle of a marathon re-watching of The X-Files and I'm up to series 4 episode 10 and I now want to believe in all conspiracy theories however stupid they are.

There's nowhere near as many episodes about aliens as I remember though and the extra characters hardly ever show up in the first 4 series. Still bloody amazing though and I'm going for the full 90's experience by watching in DVD quality with a series 1 - 9 box set I bought years ago  .

4K picture quality is for pussies :shifty: .
The picture looks strawberry floating terrible on a 55" TV.

We decided to give Luther series 3 a go and it's probably the best it's been. The recurring villain is a dark reflection of Luther himself and there's genuine tension with the internal affairs investigation. Much better than the rubbish second series and better than the first even.

Currently watching Mindhunter on Netflix, getting toward the end of S1. It's been fantastic so far, a great slow burner.

That said I am fearful of getting into stuff on Netflix these days because of the frequency with which they seem to cancel shows!

Cobra Kai series 1. Put off watching it for a while but enjoyed it so much I watched it all in one sitting. Not even that much of a Karate Kid fan, but I did like all the callbacks even if a lot of them were very on the nose.

Great news, I'd heard it just keeps on improving so looking forward to S2 lots!

With such an aversion to 3's it seems that Netflix are really Valve in disguise!

Finished S1 of The Boys.

Quite good, although I did find myself waning toward the end.

7/10

Another Life S1 - 4/10

That was a bit gooseberry fool really, the general concept is okay and a semi interesting take on what an alien 'invasion' might be like but good god everything else about it is just a mess, the acting is laughable, the characters are dull as strawberry float and the ships crew are ridiculously incompetent and nearly every episode sees one of them getting killed through sheer stupidity.

Has anyone watched I-Land yet? Was supposed to be Netflix's big new thing and apparently it's a total disaster.

Pretty sure Monkey Man has talked about it in the USTV thread.

I watched the trailer for it and was actually tempted to give it a go so that's a shame to hear it's a flop!
