Cobra Kai - Season 1 - 9/10

Objectively speaking this is probably terrible. But I strawberry floating loved the Karate Kid when I was young and so loved this.

Hawk

Kreese  :dread:

Cobra Kai - Season 2 - 9/10

Amazing show. It's definitely terrible in reality but watching it through 80's nostalgia glasses means I strawberry floating love it.

Hawk :x

Kreese

Hawk is amazing. What a dude.

And I loved Cobra Kai, I don't think it's objectively terrible at all. S2 has a bit too many teen drama moments admittedly.

Currently on S2 E4 of cobra Kai. I'm confused about who I should be rooting for, who are the good guys and who are the bad guys

I ultimately want Lawrence to come good and out on top where possible though.

I think Cobra Kai is great. They’ve grown these characters in interesting ways, and made some of the ridiculous contrivances of the movies into plot points or character flaws.

They all have plus and minus points. Except Robby, but that's because I find the actor really annoying.

Entourage S1 - 8/10
Entourage S2 - 9/10

God I love this show. The first couple of seasons are very Vince-centric, but we're about to head into the part of the show's run where Drama and Turtle really start getting fleshed out as characters.

It's his voice I think. It's like he's always trying desperately to sound earnest but it just comes out as this softly spoken whine.

I'll support the nastiest Cobra Kai over Robby Keene - and the same goes for the footballer.

Cobra Kai seems to be getting a lot of love so I'm intrigued. Having never seen Karate Kid, is it worth watching that first and then watching the series or is it the kind of 80s film that you had to grow up with to really fall in love with?

Hard to say as I did love Karate Kid as a kid.

I'd definitely watch the movie first (it's on Netflix), you'll need to know a bit about it for the series to make sense. If you like the movie, you'll love Cobra Kai.

I watched Karate Kid for the first time a few days ago what with everyone talking about Cobra Kai and I really liked it, Danny and Mr Miyagi are just very likeable. It's basically Rocky for a younger audience really. Part 2 was on TV yesterday so I recorded that but will probably skip 3 since I've heard it's awful.

In comparison, I watched The Goonies for the first time not long ago and didn't think much of that at all.

I wonder where robbys name inspiration came from! The series is pretty awesome, even to those who have no knowledge of the original movies, which must be watched to fully appreciate this. The ending of season one was a nice surprise and season 2 has started off well. I can’t believe how well most of the original cast have aged and some of the original places like daniels home and the golf and stuff place are so well done. The start of season two also gave another great remaster.

Where did they get the name inspiration for an annoying twat that's on the losing side and ends up making a banana split of himself?

I've no idea.

High Score (Netflix)
Watched this with the wife and we both enjoyed it a lot, clearly plenty of effort had gone into it and it was nice to see some great games getting a bit of spotlight in a major way like this.

Sadly it was all a bit too sketchy and high level for me, each episode seemed to barely touch on a subject before moving on. I get that this makes sense to try and bring as big an audience to the show as possible but it was annoying and often resulted in the show providing a warped narrative on subjects that could have benefited from far more balanced and detailed explorations. The whole US bias to the whole thing was bloody annoying as well, but that's always the case with these kinds of things

Parks and Recreation 1

This was amazing  Wish I'd watched it sooner. Going straight into season 2.
