Last TV series you watched and your rating

Community series 6 feels like a season of two halves, loved the first half but the second hasn’t grabbed me at all barring the paintball one, watching the last episode so hopefully it ends on a nice one.

That’s it all done, definitely not as strong once a couple of the main cast left but still enjoyable on the whole.

The Boys S2 - 8.5/10

A little slow in places but I liked the main storylines, laughed a lot (especially episode 7 ) and enjoyed the over the top swearing and violence.

Karl Urban's accent fascinates me. Its objectively terrible but it also works perfectly.

Been watching The Twilight Zone (2019).

Excellent so far. If you're into anthology stuff like Black Mirror you should definitely give it a watch.

Watched the first 4 or so episodes of Schitt's Creek and it's strawberry floating dreadful. I cannot find one thing I like about it so far. Only reason I'm watching is because my gf seems to like it, but I'm struggling to stay awake.

Is it supposed to be funny? Why is it a big deal? I honestly cannot think of a single moment I've laughed more than a "fff" noise. But also the plot is just not interesting, and the characters are... nothing.

I couldn't get past the first episode, absolutely dreadful stuff. By the sounds of this I did the right thing by bailing on it

Just finished this as well, would probably go slightly higher and give it a 9/10. There was a great moment in episode six I think it was, where a New Zealander and an Australian were badly playing at being cockney. Was genuinely hilarious.

Couple of spoilerific points:

- The rule of "if you didn't see them die, they're not dead" absolutely applies to Stormfront.

- Homelander is legit insane and I strawberry floating love it. Interested to see what happens with his kid in s3

- Setting up the AOC-esque congresswoman to be the potential big bad of the entire show was a nice twist.

- I'm looking forward to just how low The Deep ends up going as the series progresses as well.

Holy gooseberry fool. I mean...holy gooseberry fool. The first episode is hands down the best first episode I've seen of anything, ever and is the best thing Ridley Scott has directed since...I dunno, Gladiator. It's basically a feature film, and one of the most interesting sci-fi worlds I've seen on screen in years.

It does slow down once Scott relinquishes directorial duties, and the plot levels off mid-season to the point where it gets a little dull. But then it picks up by the end and the finale is extraordinary.

One of the best written, acted, designed and directed shows in ages. Everyone with a passing interest in science fiction should watch.

*the Ridley Scott one, not the Caitlyn "Ur Example of Champaign Centrist" Moran autobiographical nonsense one.

Gonna have to agree with you on this one Taf.

Me and the wife worked through it last week and really enjoyed it. It definitely dipped a little midway through before picking up again for the end but it was consistently strong. I've got so many questions for the next season.

Can't really say I've ever seen anything quite like it either. Kinda like Lost in Space mixed with the religious aspects of Battlestar Galactica.

I'm actually a little gobsmacked it got greenlit to be honest as it's not your standard TV Sci-Fi fare.

Really looking forward to season 2.

The fake cockney accents were brilliantly crap, I love it.

Just finished S6 of The 100 and rather annoyingly there doesn't seem to be any way I can currently watch the next (and final) season, either legally or on the high seas (Amazon doesn't have it yet and I seem to have missed the window to acquire it via 'less legal' means as episodes usually only stay online for a couple of days before getting taken down).

Time to start using a VPN I think (its on Canadian Netflix apparently)

I’m now 4 episodes into The Haunting of Bly Manor and so far it’s fantastic, hope it can carry on like this to the end.

The last episode is the best episode and I got a headache from crying so much

Hoping to get another episode watched this evening, can’t remember enough about Hill House to make a comparison about which is better but I think I’ll give that a rewatch afterwards. The acting seems to be generally fantastic throughout the main cast as well in Bly Manor.

The Last Dance (Netflix)

I don't know a lot about basketball. I recognise most of the team names and a few of the player names from the early 90s, but that's about it. And to enjoy this series you don't have to know much about the game; it's more about personalities and interaction more than anything.

I felt that the documentary was pretty even-handed; Michael Jordan wasn't portrayed as some kind of saint and there were certainly elements that raised questions about how he treated other people at certain times. But, to be so successful in a sport over a period of time, you don't achieve that by always being nice. It felt like Jordan's viewpoint was totally - almost excessively - focussed on winning and what he needed to do in order to achieve that. With the athleticism, thinking and determination that he possessed, he could make his goals possible. I kinda think he must have been a complete pain to work alongside on occasions but I also feel that his approach probably would have created momentum in others to perform to the maximum of their capabilities.

It was great that the documentary wasn't solely focussed on Jordan; both the Bulls and the wider NBA had plenty of other interesting players and characters and the show benefitted from seeing and hearing their viewpoints.

I hugely enjoyed the series; it was compelling and created a great feel for just what it takes to compete at the top level of sport.

The sign of a great documentary is if it is interesting to somebody with no interest in the subject. And you're right, The Last Dance is great, even to somebody like me that has very little interest in or knowledge of basketball.

I really enjoyed it as well, but thought it was about 3 episodes too long. Even though I liked it, it just felt like it was a bit drawn out and when on and on

Had to stop about 20 mins into the last episode and haven't been able to sum up the will to go back in and finish it off.
