White Christmas really is a fantastic episode, the ending for both the main characters is quite twisted considering the technology at play in that episode but (I suppose one of them is a cookie, but whether that has any impact on the person it’s cloned from I don’t know), sure the American guy was a prick for what he did in his spare time (and definitely how his, ahem extra curricular activity ended) but he’s now got no place in society due to being put on a permanent block, obviously the other guy deserves the jail time but again could have been avoided had his partner not withheld the truth (that she’d cheated and the kid wasn’t his, as he wanted nothing more than to be a parent to a child he could then never watch grow up and when he finally could see her, he found out the truth and didn’t know how to handle it). I watched another couple of episodes of Black Mirror last night, ‘Playtest’ and ‘Shut up and Dance’, the latter definitely wasn’t as good on second viewing (but still a great episode). One of the few happier (in a way) episodes up next in ‘San Junipero’.

Metalhead was one of the couple I wasn’t keen on first time round, not sure if it’ll change on my rewatch or not though.

What's the one where the couple get matched up by that dating app? I like that one.

Hang the DJ or something like that, I only watched Black Mirror after Peaky Blinders so wasn’t expecting to see one of them in it

Yeah that's it. I also really like the one with the guy who created the Star Trek-esque video game.

How i met your mother S04. Having exhausted most of the sitcoms on netflix i decided to give this a go. My memory of it was from C4 weekly dips that never seemed to end, and was put off by the preview that netflix plays. Started from S01. the first few episodes are gooseberry fool. lame as hell. Ted is rubbish and jason segal cant act. But the series does evolve and the scripts seems to eventually recognise the strengths of the barney character, and the ensemble do eventually come together. Some good gags and references/creations to 2000s pop culture in there. Recommended.

Altered Carbon - S1 - 7/10

Decent but not great. There could have been an amazing series here but there's something missing.

Altered Carbon - S2 - 5/10

Whatever it was missing, they didn't find it for S2, I thought it was pretty dull. And they ruined the best character (Poe). Meh.

I liked season one more than you did, but I totally agree about the second. Couldn't even be bothered to finish it.

The Boys (season 2) 9/10 - Not quite as good as season 1, but, still, its such great entertainment. Its just got a great mix of everything. Can't wait for season 3; it's so far away though :(

Ghosts (BBC, first 2 eps) - Heard some good things about this, but, nope, not for me. Perhaps it gets better, but the humour is just too light.

Anne with an E: Season 3 - 10/10

The third and final season left a few story threads unfinished sadly (can't believe they cancelled it), but overall, it was another magnificent season, and brought to an end one of the greatest TV shows i have ever seen (and one which will feature on my all time favourites list for many years to come).

I really will miss watching this, t'is an absolute masterpiece.

Yeah, I really enjoyed this show. Geraldine James is pretty much great in everything she's in. I cancelled Netflix so wasn't aware of the subsequent seasons. I'll need to check them out. Used to love the old 80s' version with Megan Follows as well.

Btw, Vermi, if you're on a Green Gables tip, the BBC iPlayer currently has a couple of Anne movies from the thirties at the moment. Can't vouch for how good they are though.

You should definitely check out seasons 2 and 3, they are just magnificent (and yes, Geraldine James was brilliant as Marilla, in fact, every member of the cast played their roles perfectly).

In order to get my next Green Gables fix, i already have purchased a copy of the original book by L.M Montgomery.
