EA 1-2-3 second week in a row

EA continue the 1-2-3 at the top of the Entertainment Software Top 40 for a 2nd week with ‘Mercenaries 2: World in Flames’ (-5%), ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09’ (-9%) and ‘Spore’ (-23%).

Sega climb 4 places to No4 with ‘Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games’ rocketing 85% over last week thanks mainly to promotional activity, especially on the Wii version. Nintendo drop one place to No5 with ‘Wii Fit’, although sales hold up over last week, and remain at No6 with ‘Mario Kart Wii’ climbing 17% over last week. Take 2’s ‘Carnival: Funfair Games’ drops 2 places to No7, up 3% over last week. Rocketing ten places and back in to the Top 10 at No8 is Activision’s ‘Guitar Hero: On Tour’ (+143%) which was a lead promotional title on DS. This week’s big new entry is Midway’s ‘TNA Impact!’ at No9 while Nintendo round off the Top 10 with ‘Wii Play (-8%) at No10.

I'm pretty surprised at TNA Impact being in the top 10, especially seeing as it didn't review well and the promotion in general is still very niche compared to WWE.

Maybe it will keep on selling in low quantities; the first one never set the charts on fire but sold quite well in the end.

I might be wrong, but weren't most of those sales due to the game being bundled with the 360 last Christmas? (the same goes for Forza 2?)

Still, very sad to see VP2 almost drop out of the top 40 within 2 weeks of release.

According to GamesIndustry.biz (I think it them was who claimed so recently), yes.

Every single Wii owner should have a copy, what exactly is your problem.

You are a moron if you own a Wii and don't have Wii Play.

You know you actually have to pay money for Wii Play, right? It's the same sort of money as would get you something awesome from WiiWare or XBLA, but you chose to spend your fiver on Wii Play. :fp:

Whilst calling every Wii owner without Wii Play a moron is a little, shall we say, excessive, I must admit that I've never understood why anyone would be shocked and appalled by its frequently high sales. For a fiver, it really isn't bad. If the Wii sells like hot cakes, I don't see what's wrong with people buying Wii Play!

A fiver?!

Is this not the Wii Play that, for less than the price of a new Wiimote got you a new Wiimote and a sort-of entertaining game?

It's sales are self-explanatory.

Well atleast we should see a sequel, which is great news as even if your not a fan of wrestling it's just fun to play. It's one of those game where you can just pick up and play.

Deserves to get where it did in the chart

In your opinion.

In the opinion of lots of us (and most reviewers) it was a bloody good game and deserved some success.

With Wii Play you get the Tank game. That makes it the most awesome extra fiver YOUVE EVER SPENT.

It's actually selling more. And isn't poor.
