That's not true at all though, unless you live in Saudi Arabia or something, then your lawn gets adequet water from the weather, and even if there's some stupid drought on, even if it all dies and goes yellow, it'll will come back as good as ever. Grass is persistent stuff.

Watering your lawn is a waste of water as it serves no benefit.
