This will be hands down the best 2D Zelda if 1) you can hold more items 2) you don't get stopped every 5 secs because you picked up you know what and 3) the brown turd "crystals" actually look like crystals.

Looks like someone crossed Nintendo Land and Clay Kirby.

Holy. strawberry floating. gooseberry fool. Yes.

Holy strawberry floating gooseberry fool yes.

Hands down my pants, favourite game of all strawberry floating time.

(And I'll still get stuck trying to bring down the 4th strawberry floating pillar in the 7th dungeon).

I love the look of this, they look like little clay models moving around, I wonder where they will release this? The second half of this year is looking packed as it is

I'm so torn about this.

Links Awakening is hands down my favourite game of all time, it holds a very special place in my heart (hun).

As soon as I saw the waves I knew it was a remake of the game, I almost shouted in excitement (I was in bed watching), I saw the wind fish egg, it looked so strawberry floating gorgeous, a hand drawn remake of my favourite game!!!!! :toot: :toot:

And then.

:dread:

It looks like ALBW, I HATED the way ALBW looked. Great game of course, but it looks like gooseberry fool to me.

Urgh.

Notlikethis.

Of course I'll be there day one, because it's links awakening.

Hopefully there will be some extra content that's intergrated in seemlesly like the colour dungeon, and not just amiibo rubbish.

Option to have the original music plz  and the original graphics

Glad I'm not the only one not keen on the graphical style. The style looks cute but not massively removed from... stock cute graphics?

The animated intro is clearly meant to be an updated version of what they were trying to do with the original intro at the time. Dunno how that's going over so many peoples heads that've played the original before and were expecting the whole remake to look like that.

I like the art style of it, but I don’t think I have much interest in remakes of games I’ve played before. I think that’s just me, not really one to replay games.

I don't disagree, but I do also like what they've done with it. Link's Awakening has a very "pocket" adventure feel, and that was a lot due to the hardware limitations it was working with. This remake won't implicitly have that same tone from being on Switch alone, especially when docked to a TV - this is a console with Breath of the Wild on it after all! A straight orchestral performance of the Link's Awakening music would be lovely, but it wouldn't carry that same shrunk-into-your-pocket vibe. Instead both the music and visuals seem to have a deliberate toy box spin on them which I think emulates that feeling - at least it does for me in that trailer.

1) We can already see the sword, shield and roc's feather all being used at the same time, so there is definitely /some/ difference
2) Please yes god please (and fast text skipping in general too please)
3) Given the visual overhaul I think we'll probably be okay

I don't think it looks that much like ALBW to be honest, although that is the closest existing Zelda art style this seems quite different again.

Not gonna lie, I will be buying any and every Link's Awakening amiibo that gets released :shifty:

New content would be nice. I'm also interested if they'll be keeping the photos/camera shop.

:o you don't say! Thanks for pointing that out!!!!!!!

It looked like that back then because the system couldn't handle an actual game which looked like that, only images like that serving as cut scenes. It's not unreasonable to think that a whole game could be done like it or to expect that. Look at how Rayman origins/legends looks for example.

I'm normally similar but I haven't played this game since approximately 1995 and it was one of the games to hook me on gaming. So I'm definitely in.

This means you haven't played the DX version content either like the color dungeon, so all the more reason (assuming they keep it, and I can't think why they wouldn't).
