No I loved the look. Was the first Zelda game that I finished

I think it's telling now that the "adult"-style Spaceworld demo now looks like absolute pap whereas Wind Waker, even in its native GC form, still looks great. I'd argue that it still looks better than Twilight Princess, which is 3 or 4 years old. You could probably also make a strong argument for Wind Waker HD looking better than Skyward Sword too.

To be fair that's the case with most 'realistic' looking games. It's no surprise that BOTW is closer in art style to WW than any of the other 3D Zelda's, I imagine it too will age really well and look even better on emulators/newer hardware.

I've never actually gone back to WW, I have no idea how the game holds up now.

It looks seriously stunning when playing the Wii U version via Cemu

Wind Waker was my favourite Zelda title before BOTW, though I'd never really given the 2D Zelda's much thought back in the day so Link's Awakening might just top it now

I'd happily have Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD ported over to Switch.

I actually think Wind Waker looks better than Wind Waker HD. More so when you see WW in Dolphin with it being 1080p and with other stuff done to it, it keeps the same look but just makes it nicer. I think WWHD looks a little off, like, plasticy. And not a really nice plasticy like in LA remake.

It's because at some point when they were making Wind Waker HD someone at Nintendo said "shall we add....bloom?" and everyone agreed and they ran with it as far as they can.

It's too much in my opinion and gives the game a "foggy" look whereas Wind Waker GCN had a very clean look.

The quality of life changes mean WWHD is the superior version imho, but I fully agree that the bloom ruined the visual style of it. It made everything look like plasticine. The lack of bloom in the house/dungeon interiors makes them the best looking part of them, which defeats the object in a game about sailing. :|

Wind Waker HD is one of the few remakes I have bought, I don't think I even got to the Deku tree island place.

I love WW, I just find it very hard to replay games I have finished. Most of the time anyway. Though I am thinking to complete for Stream Game 100 and t will be a games I really like.

WW is one of the very few games i have ever replayed (RE4 and Monkey Island 2 being others). It absolutely held up when i played it in 2014 on Wii U, and the dungeon map on the control pad felt very natural to me. It is one of my absolute favorite games of all time.

Just got the hookshot. This is really lovely, but strawberry float me the performance is getting worse :dread: Its now getting to the point where entire buttons and their action don't register at all, and I have to leave a room or open a menu to get it to come back.

I've never had anything remotely like this, performance problems for me (and all I've ever read others complain about) were just slowdown on screen transitions. Are you sure it's not your controller(s)?

Yea same, there was some pretty noticeable lag on screen transitions but nothing that actually interfered with gameplay.

I guess it's a YMMV situation then.

I played completely docked, and never had anything other than frame rate issues...

To go back to this, it appears one of my joycons sets is faulty in some way, because I swapped to the others and it was then fine, and when those ran out of charge I changed back, and the issues returned. Also playing guacamelee 2 last night I was getting missed directions and button presses flat out not working. Shoddy stuff.

Finished this the other night with full hearts. Just missing one bottle and a few seashells. Loved it

Kind of gutted they didn't include the gameboy version as an unlockable.

Link's Awakening

Nintendo joy-cons :dread:

The original would have been a fantastic inclusion, but how did you enjoy the music transitioning back to game boy in the credits :datass:

I haven't bought the game and probably won't. I don't think the GB game needed a remake. It still holds up to me. I love the visuals in it, and it's a pretty tight experience.

I wonder what Grezzo will do next? HD versions of the OoT and MM 3DS remakes would be nice

Those are still available on current hardware. I'd prefer a remake of both ages and seasons in one package.

You'd think an Ages/Season remake using the LA engine would be a pretty easy project for Grezzo to get out before the Switch is done. And with LA's sales figures Nintendo must be tempted.
