Amusingly, Anonoma has admitted his “thief game” comment in 2016 was a reference to Link’s Awakening.

Quite funny to think all the speculation that’s been made about him making a new IP off the back of that comment.

Also shows how long the game has been in development for.

In other news, from Twitter posts of new clips of the game it looks like they’ve managed to hit 60 fps

I'm so ready for this. Still over a month away. :(

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Pfft. Looks like a gooseberry fool Oceanhorn.

I called off his players' names as they came marching up the steps behind him....All nice guys. They'll finish last. Nice guys. Finish last.

As beautiful as the footage is, it doesn't look quite as fluid.

Worrying

Link seems to turn/change direction very quickly, which looks a bit odd

Looks fine and they've improved the frame rate since its initial showing *shrug*

Were Boos in the original game? Don't remember that.

Screen-scrolling seems to certainly give the game a different rhythm, I'm looking forward to seeing what that's like. When it comes to "fluidity", which I'd say the quick direction changing is part of, it's probably more fluid than the original thanks to screen scrolling and less item switching, but design decisions become more obvious. The lack of animation when changing direction for example is a prioritisation of responsive controls over smooth animation, whereas the original's sprite limitations meant no such trade-off existed.

Yeah Boos were there. Along with Goombas, Piranah Plants and a Chain Chomp (Bow Wow). Might be more but I can't think just now.

My issue was more the 10 million years of lag after a jump

Weirdly, i’m not feeling any excitement about this Zelda. I would have preferred a new game following on from A Link Between Worlds than this.

I wish i had not played the original for the first time about 13 months ago. If it had been 5 years or so i would be ready for it again, and if i had never played it i would be really excited. But as its till so fresh in my mind, and this is a pretty close to 1:1 remake, i don't see me picking this up. Which feels bad, as it will be the first mainline Zelda game i have not picked up since Skyward Sword.

Looks gorgeous. I'll wait though, just in case this is the first ever Switch game to get a price drop.

I'm getting it for Christmas along with Luigi's Mansion 3.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

I've never played LA so I'm pretty hyped for this. Switch is the only system I preorder for with prices barely dropping anyway.

Is there any 'new' game in this at all? It look beautiful but functionally it seems pretty identical.

I think this game holds my record for 'started the most times, finished once'

(I don't have a switch, but keep an eye on what's going on)

You can create dungeons (kind of) by using tiles from existing dungeons i believe. I still don't really understand how that would work though, as surly you are just doing the same puzzles in a different order. I think it probably works better than i imagine it to.
